Report: Jordan thwarts Iranian-planned terror plot

Jordanian security forces reported to have  arrested foreigner possessing 45 kg of high-grade explosives in ‘most serious case in a decade’.

The Jordanian newspaper Al Rai reported Monday morning that Jordanian security forces had foiled a terror plot by a member of an Iranian-backed group.

According to the report, the suspect belongs to the Iranian Bayt al-Maqdis group – which is unrelated to the identically named Egyptian group has recently changed its moniker sworn allegiance to the Islamic State group.

The suspect reportedly holds Iraqi and Norwegian citizenship, was arrested in northern Jordan, and found to be in possession of large amounts of explosives. Continue Reading »

Intel Expert: Oil Industry Has Technology to Deal With Israel’s Tunnel Problem

Yossi Langosky, the IDF officer who established the technology department of the army’s Intelligence Unit, said Wednesday that all of Israel’s land borders – north, south, and east – were vulnerable to “tunnel attacks” by terrorists, similar to the ones conducted by Hamas before and during Operation Protective Edge last summer, according to NRG. The IDF can develop solutions to defend the country against such attacks – but it is going to take a revision of policy and outlook.

The members of the cell, who were arrested in early March, bought a car to be used in the attack, trained in shooting and collected intelligence on their target.

Four Jews were murdered in a kosher supermarket in Paris last month, after an Islamist terrorist claiming loyalty to Islamic State (ISIS) took the Hyper Cacher store hostage before police raided it and shot him – but according to US President Barack Obama the attack was “random.”

In calling the attack random during an interview with Vox on Monday, Obama in fact did not even identify the victims as Jews, instead terming them “a bunch of folks.”

2nd Paris Hostage Crisis – Now at Kosher Deli

AFP report 2 dead (unconfirmed) amidst tense standoff in Dammartin-en-Goele, developments on police shooting, as many as 5 hostages at kosher deli.

A second hostage crisis is unfolding in Paris Friday, French police announced to the media Friday afternoon: an armed man has taken a hostage in a kosher grocery store in the French capital.

1-2 people have been shot and wounded by a gunman with a Kalashnikov-type rifle, according to French media, who has taken the hostage at the Hypercasher supermarket in Vincennes.

French media has now begun to report that there are 5 hostages there, including women and children, but this has not been officially confirmed.

Justice Minister Presents Her 6-Point Plan for Gaza Ceasefire on Israel TV News

Minister Livni’s new plan links a Gaza ceasefire with resuming the peace negotiations with Abbas and the PA.

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni has presented a six-point plan which links a ceasefire in Gaza with a return to peace negotiations with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Channel 2 News reported about the details of the plan on Friday evening. Livni has presented the plan to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu but he has yet to respond, the report said.

Livni’s plan includes the following steps:

  • A ceasefire.
  • Immediate humanitarian assistance to the residents of Gaza.
  • Measures that will meet both Israel’s security demands and the economic needs of the people of Gaza, equating the interests of the parties.

Jerusalem sends experts to help find Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamists

 

Israel’s team including experienced hostage negotiators, will join a growing int’l effort to track down the missing 200 kidnapped children.

Israel has sent intelligence experts to Nigeria to help search for more than 200 schoolgirls abducted last month by Islamist rebel group Boko Haram, an Israeli official said on Tuesday.

The team, which the official said included people experienced in dealing with hostage situations, will join a growing international effort to track down the children.

Bulgaria seeks extradition from Lebanon of 2 Hezbollah bus bomb terrorists

Bulgaria’s Chief prosecutor: 3rd Bombing suspect in the terror attack on an Israeli tour bus to Burgas has been officially identified, but not publicly revealed.

 

 

Bulgaria’s chief prosecutor  Sotir Tsatsarov said on Friday that the authorities transferred the investigation of the terror attack on an Israeli bus to Burgas; the  Black Sea resort which was the location of the 2012 attack resulting in the deaths of five Israelis and their Bulgarian bus driver.

Quick Acting Police Thwart Arab Terrorist Attack Outside Jerusalem

Israel police save the day by catching Palestinian terrorist on the verge of committing a potentially deadly knife-attack in Maale Adumim, just outside of Jerusalem.

An attempted terrorist attack in the city of Maale Adumim, east of Jerusalem, was thwarted Friday, it has been cleared for release this evening.

On Friday afternoon Jerusalem police received reports that a local security patrol had stopped a suspicious looking man, who appeared to be “drunk”, standing at the entrance to the city.

Police dispatched a patrol car and when officers arrived and began questioning the suspect, they noted he appeared very nervous and was answering their questions in a suspicious manner. Continue Reading »

IDF Shoot & Hit Two Terrorists on Israel’s Syrian Border

IDF soldiers shoot & hit two terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Israel’s Golan Heights from Syria.

IDF soldiers were able to prevent two terrorists from infiltrating into Israel in the Golan Heights, near the border with Syria, on Friday night.

According to the IDF, the soldiers identified two suspects fiddling with the security fence along the border. It is believed they also tried to place an explosive device. The troops open fired, hitting the two terrorists.

“The IDF will continue to protect the border and prevent attacks,” said the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit in a statement quoted by Channel 2 News. Continue Reading »

IDF Capture 2 Terror Suspects Crossing Gaza Fence

The 2 Palestinians caught by the IDF after they breached the security fence to sneak into Israel, are now held during investigation.

The border with Gaza remains turbulent. On Friday, two local Arabs were captured by the IDF after they breached the Gaza security fence.

The two were heading towards Israel for intents that remain unclear. They have been taken for investigation by security forces.

IDF forces discovered two explosives planted against the security fence just this Tuesday, during routine activities in the area. The explosives were neutralized without causing any damage or injuries.

Released Terrorist from Shalit Swap Caught with Knife

Palestinian Terrorist who was released from prison in the Gilad Shalit exchange was caught with a knife and admits to planning a stabbing attack on Jews.

A terrorist who was released in the Shalit deal in 2011 was caught with a knife by security forces on Monday evening.

The terrorist, in his 20s, was caught at the Qalandiya checkpoint and was taken in for questioning. During interrogation he admitted that he had planned a stabbing attack.

The terrorist had been in an Israeli prison for three years after being convicted of opening fire towards a Jewish community in Judea and Samaria. Continue Reading »
