Israel’s ZAKA Search & Rescue Unit Signs Cooperation Agreement With UAE

In signing this historic agreement in Dubai, the chairman of ZAKA, Yehuda Meshi Zahav said, “There is no greater expression of peace than volunteer units partnering for mutual humanitarian aid and assistance.”

ZAKA held a historic ceremony at DIHAD headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates with representatives of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition-(DIHAD).

At the meeting, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding that supports future collaborations between the two in the humanitarian field in international crises and disasters, and to provide the necessary support to those affected, regardless of color, race, gender, religion or political opinions. 🇮🇱 Netanyahu: Israel search & rescue teams for Guatemala are ready 🇬🇹

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed to assist Guatemala in rescue and recovery efforts, following a devastating earthquake that killed dozens of people earlier this week.

On Sunday, the Volcan del Fuego volcano southwest of Guatemala City erupted, killing more than 60 people and burying nearby towns in ash.

The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction in Guatemala said that fiery clouds of smoke were billowing from the volcano and that soot blanketed cars and houses in the nearby villages of San Pedro Yepocapa and Sangre de Cristo. Continue Reading »

Israeli rescue unit assisted in 5 worldwide humanitarian operations during past week.

Forty ZAKA rescue and recovery organization volunteers assisted thousands of Johannesburg residents after severe storms ripped through homes in different parts of the city between December 31 and January 2.

Israel Customs At Airport Shocked to Find Corpse in Unclaimed Package

Customs workers at Ben-Gurion Airport were astounded to open an unclaimed package there on Tuesday and find a woman’s corpse inside.

Foreign Minister spokesman Alon Lavi said that the package arrived Tuesday morning on an Aeroflot flight from Russia. There was no accompanying paperwork with the body identifying the deceased, or the person who sent the “package,”  or any of the necessary permits needed for burial. Continue Reading »

Or Asraf, Israel’s only fatality in Nepal, has been found by searchers

Asraf is the sole fatality of the 250 Israelis that were unaccounted for in Nepal, immediately after the earthquake that has killed more than 7,000 so far.

A search team in Nepal discovered Sunday the body of 22-year-old Israeli trekker Or Asraf who had been missing since last Saturday when a 7.9 magnitude earthquake devastated the Himalayan country.

Asraf was the only Israeli to lose his life in the quake which has killed more than 7,000 people. His family confirmed on Sunday that they had been officially notified of his death. Continue Reading »

Arab Terrorist Rams Car Into Jerusalem Pedestrians

Israel Police reports that the terrorist was shot after he drove up on the sidewalk and ran over five people close to the Border Police base in Jerusalem.

ZAKA reported Friday morning that a rampage terror attack occurred a short time ago near the Border Patrol’s base in the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood in Jerusalem.

A police statement clarified that the Arab terrorist attack was conducted in a private car that approached the base from Zaks Junction before going up on the sidewalk and running over five people, of whom four were from the security forces.

Israel in Ukraine providing emergency care training to Jewish communities in Kiev

In case of deterioration of the Ukrainian conflict, Israeli rescue organizations are training the Jewish Hatzalah (aid & rescue) unit in Kiev to deal with mass casualties.

 

 

The United Hatzalah and ZAKA rescue organizations are training Jews in Kiev’s Hatzalah so they can respond to mass casualty emergencies in the troubled and violent Ukraine if the crisis escalates.
