At Least One Killed as IAF Struck Gaza Targets

Israel jets hit 3 targets early Saturday morning in retaliation for missile on Netivot.

IAF jets struck three terrorist targets in northern and central Gaza Saturday morning in retaliation for a Grad missile attack on the Israeli town of Netivot Friday night. The IDF Spokesman’s Unit said that accurate hits on target were identified.

On Saturday evening, AFP reported that one person was killed, in what seems to be a separate IAF strike. The IDF issued a statement saying that members of the Shura Council / Global Jihad were eliminated but did not specify how many had been killed or give further details. Continue Reading »

Egypt grants citizenship to 50,000 Palestinians

 

Egyptian newspaper El-Watan reports Interior Ministry instructed to give citizenship to all Palestinians with Egyptian mothers.

Some 50,000 Palestinians, most of them from the Gaza Strip, have been granted Egyptian citizenship over the past few months, an Egyptian security official revealed Thursday.

The official said that the Egyptian Interior Ministry had been instructed to give Egyptian citizenship to all Palestinians who were born to Egyptian mothers.

The official, who was not identified, told the Egyptian newspaper El-Watan that the instructions came from the country’s High Administrative Court in Cairo last May.

Terrorist Grad Missile Hits Home in Netivot

2 more Grad missiles fired by Gaza terrorists disrupt the calm of the Sabbath in Netivot, where a woman was treated for shock.

The calm of the Sabbath was disrupted on Friday evening as two Grad missiles fired by Gaza-based terrorists exploded in the city of Netivot, Channel 2 News reported.

At around 7:30 p.m., residents of the city, some of whom were in the midst of their Shabbat dinner, heard the “red alert” siren. Shortly afterwards the two missiles exploded, one of them exploding in the yard of a home.

There were no physical injuries or damages, but one woman suffered shock and was treated by paramedics. Continue Reading »

Stanley Fischer says Iran Affair Has Little Effect on Israeli Economy

Regarding the Israeli economy, Fischer stated “we recovered from the global economic crisis very swiftly & we have grown at a rate of close to 5% in the past few years.”

 

At a press conference in Tokyo on Thursday for the annual World Bank-IMF meeting, Israeli central bank head Stanley Fischer said that security threats, including the possibility of a conflict with Iran, have a small effect on Israel’s economy, which he called “good but not in excellent shape.”

Hezbollah Official Defects to Israel with Embezzled Millions

Official Hezbollah sources reported that Hussein Fahs fled Lebanon with classified documents, maps, & a large sum of money.

 

Last month, Yoni Alpert’s Terror Watch reported that Iranian Revolutionary Guards along with Hezbollah’s security apparatus arrested Hussein Fahs, who is considered Hezbollah’s CFO and head of the organization’s operational communications network. Fahs was arrested at Beirut’s Hariri Airport, on his way to an unknown destination. He and four other Hezbollah members were interrogated on suspicion of embezzling the organization’s funds and of collaborating with Israeli Intelligence. A lawsuit brought against a Lebanese bank accused of money laundering should be heard in New York, according to a lawyer for victims of rocket attacks in Israel.

Robert Tolchin told the Court of Appeals panel in that a Lebanese-Canadian Bank account that worked with an American Express Bank to wire millions of dollars to Hizbullah agents, thought responsible for the terror attack.

The Lebanese bank’s attorney, Jonathan Siegfried, contested that New York courts don’t have jurisdiction because the suit doesn’t allege injury to a New York plaintiff and doesn’t name a New York-based defendant. Continue Reading »

Nasrallah Admits Hizbullah’s Drone Violated Israeli Airspace

The head of the Hizbullah terror group, Hassan Nasrallah boasted on Thursday that his group sent a sophisticated unmanned drone over Israel last week, saying the device was built by Iran, AFP reported.

The Israeli Air Force shot down the drone on Saturday morning after it entered the country’s airspace from the Mediterranean Sea.

“A sophisticated reconnaissance aircraft was sent from Lebanese territory … and travelled hundreds of kilometers over the sea before crossing enemy lines and into occupied Palestine,” Nasrallah said on Hizbullah’s television station Al-Manar. Continue Reading »

Jewish doctor from New York wins Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Robert J. Lefkowitz, a Jewish physician and path-breaking biochemist from New York, has won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry jointly with Brian K. Kobilka, a researcher at California’s Stanford University.

An Israeli man suffered light injuries Wednesday after he was stabbed by a Palestinian assailant at the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit.

Magen David Adom emergency services were called to the scene and treated the man, whose neck was cut, on the site.

The assailant, who fled the immediate scene, was apprehended by security forces shortly thereafter.

Authorities believe the Palestinian’s act was nationalistically motivated.
