Egypt floods more Gaza tunnels at the dismay of Hamas

GAZA – Egypt has intensified a crackdown on smuggling tunnels between its volatile Sinai desert and the Gaza Strip, causing a steep hike in petrol and cement prices in the Palestinian territory.

Palestinians involved in the tunnel business say that the campaign, which began in March and has included flooding of underground passages, was ramped up in the past two weeks before a wave of opposition-led protests in Egypt expected to start on June 30.

7 Rockets Fired into Southern Israel

Terrorists from Hamas-controlled Gaza fired at least seven rockets into southern Israel on Sunday night.

Once AgainAround 1:00 a.m., four rockets were fired towards the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. One of them may have been intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system, and the other three exploded in open areas. There were no physical injuries or damages.

Gaza’s Christians Concerned as Hamas Bans Co-Ed Schools

Another strict Islamic sharia law was passed banning co-ed schools in Gaza leaves Christians worrisome that their schools are in danger of closure.

A new law passed by the Hamas government in Gaza banning co-ed schools has left many Christians fearful that their schools are in danger of closure, according to the Beirut-based Al-Akhbar daily.

The new law, which mandates gender segregation in all schools, also bans men from teaching at girls’ schools. The law will likely force Christian educational institutions to close their doors to Muslim and Christian students alike, reported the newspaper.

Samer Badra, financial director of the Patriarchate Schools in Gaza, told Al-Akhbar, “Implementing the new education law will force Gaza’s Christian institutions to build new facilities and hire new employees to comply with the articles. Continue Reading »

Hamas has confiscated rockets and other types of weaponry belonging to Fatah’s armed wing, Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Palestinian sources revealed Sunday.

The sources told the Fatah-affiliated Palestine Press News Agency that Hamas confiscated 100 rockets and 500 “combat units” when Fatah tried to move them from one location to another in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza Legislative Council wants flogging & hand amputation in law

Many Gazans alarmed by harsh draft law from the Gaza Legislative Council that includes Islamic mandatory flogging or amputation for certain punishments.

The penal code drafted by Hamas hard-liners in the Gaza Legislative Council has caused widespread debate not only inside Palestinian society, but also among the political and parliamentary leadership of Hamas, because it included forms of punishment such as flogging and hand amputation, in addition to criminalizing acts not mentioned in the current law.

11th Saudi Aid Convoy Enters the ‘Besieged’ Gaza Strip

Despite claims by Gaza’s Hamas terrorist rulers that Israel is keeping the region under “siege”, a convoy carrying medical aid from Saudi Arabia, the 11th one in recent weeks, arrived at the coastal enclave on Saturday.

Arab affairs expert Dalit Halevi reports that the Saudi convoy includes 10 tons of medicines and medical equipment. It was transferred to the El-Arish airport in Egypt and from there was taken to Gaza in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai and the Palestinian Authority’s Red Crescent. PA Warns Int’l Community about cleric’s ‘Fake Palestinian Passport’

The Palestinian Authority asks world countries to take legal action and seize the fake ‘Palestine’ passport given by Hamas to the Muslim cleric Yousef al-Qaradawi.

The Palestinian Authority Ministry of Interior put out a notice on Friday, informing countries that recognize “Palestine” that radical Muslim cleric Yousef al-Qaradawi holds a “fake” Palestinian passport, according to the Ma’an news agency.
