Yossi Langosky, the IDF officer who established the technology department of the army’s Intelligence Unit, said Wednesday that all of Israel’s land borders – north, south, and east – were vulnerable to “tunnel attacks” by terrorists, similar to the ones conducted by Hamas before and during Operation Protective Edge last summer, according to NRG. The IDF can develop solutions to defend the country against such attacks – but it is going to take a revision of policy and outlook.

REPORT: Israel Destroys SCUD Factory in Sudan But Lost UAV In Operation

The Sudanese army claimed it shot down an Israeli drone, after Arab media reported on Wednesday that Israeli war planes struck sites around the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, destroying weapons sites apparently destined for Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The London-based Arabic-language Al-Araby Al-Jadeed and other Arab news sources reported the strikes, saying they hit a factory producing long-range Scud missiles, a rocket storage site, as well as a convoy that was leaving the military site in Omdurman to the north of Khartoum.

Israeli Arab arrested for transferring funds for Hamas agents in West Bank

Malik Khatib from Kafr Kanna was indited for transferring funds from Hamas militants in Gaza to Palestinians in the West Bank and driving illegals from Gaza to Israel.

An indictment was filed Tuesday morning in the Nazareth District Court against Malik Khatib, 31, a dentist from the village of Kafr Kanna in northern Israel on suspicion he made contact with a Hamas agent and transferred funds to Hamas in Ramallah. He was also charged with illegal transportation and fraud under the Income Tax Ordinance.

Islamic State supporters in Gaza give Hamas 72-hour ultimatum

A group calling themselves “Supporters of the Islamic State in Beit al-Maqdis” in the Gaza Strip issued Monday a 72 hour ultimatum to Hamas to release their prisoners or face “dire consequences.”

Jimmy Carter: Seeking meeting with Netanyahu is waste of time

 

 

Speaking in Jerusalem, former US president Jimmy Carter on Saturday urged Israel to work toward a diplomatic resolution to the Palestinian conflict and end its military presence in the Palestinian territories.

However, he sounded a less-than-optimistic note regarding the Israeli leadership’s commitment to these goals.

“We didn’t ask for any meeting with Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu or his cabinet we have never met in the past and this time we didn’t ask because it would be a waste of time,” said Carter, a member of The Elders, an independent Group of global leaders.

Hamas’s “military wing,” the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Saturday morning that a terrorist in the organization was killed in Gaza’s Beit Lahiya.

The announcement revealed that the terrorist died when the tunnel he was working to dig collapsed.

Hamas has been actively rebuilding its terror tunnel infrastructure meant to facilitate attacks from within Israeli territory, with the digging said to be taking place six days a week with three shifts each day on roughly 30 tunnels – around the same number as was destroyed in last summer’s war, but in different routes.

A senior security official said, however, that Israel views Hamas as being responsible for the attack.

Abbas Suggests That Arab League Attack Hamas
