Palestinians: Israel Threatens to Sever Ties With Hamas-Fatah Unity Gov’t

 

According to PA official at President Mahmoud Abbas’ office, only security related matters will continue when Hamas sworn in with Fatah government.

Israel has informed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas directly that all contact with the Palestinian Authority will be severed the moment the new Palestinian unity government is sworn in, a senior figure in the Palestinian president’s office has told Haaretz.

Hamas operative details terrorist activities on Temple Mount

 

Israel’s Shin Bet security services reveal how Hamas paid young men monthly salaries to prevent a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount.

The Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) announced Thursday that a senior Hamas operative arrested at the Allenby bridge last month revealed during interrogation that Hamas uses the Islamic Movement in Israel as a front to promote its activities within Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The operative, Mahmoud Toama, a member of the main economic council of Hamas as well as Hamas’ General Shura Council, provided the security agency with information on Hamas activities in Jerusalem as well as the organization’s funding sources and international relationships. Continue Reading »

Abbas: I expect Israel to accept upcoming Palestinian election results

 

Abbas’ comment comes as IDF soldiers order Palestinian newspaper to stop printing material by outlawed terrorist organization Hamas.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday that peace talks are the only way forward and that he “expects Israelis to respect the decision of Palestinians in the upcoming elections,” Israel’s Channel 2 reported Wednesday.

Media Misquotes Hamas to Demonize Israel

International community wants so badly to blame Israel as the obstacle to peace, that mainstream media is willing to overtly misquote Hamas.

Diplomats, media and peace activists apparently eager to paint Israel as the main obstacle to peace have been quick to publish and point to numerous reports that Hamas is being encouraged and has even agreed to recognize Israel as part of its unity agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

Three Palestinian men were killed and four others injured in an explosion in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

A spokesman of the Hamas-run Gaza ministry of health told Ma’an that the circumstances behind the explosion were not clear.

Ashraf al-Qidra added that ambulances evacuated two dead men and one critically injured person.

During an Arab wedding procession in Jerusalem’s Old City on Thursday night, the Jewish state’s 3,000-year-old capital bore witness to a multitude of terrorist organization flags.

Participants in the wedding, who received permission from the police to hold the procession in the Old City, waved the flags of terror groups including Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, and Hamas, alongside the flag of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

As they marched with the flags, the Arab revelers chanted slogans insulting Israel and Judaism, such as “even with the rifle, the (‘Palestinian’) nation will live and will not die,” and “we will write on the pistol: Al-Aqsa (Jerusalem) is holy to us.” Continue Reading »

Actually, no one really believed Mahmoud Abbas’ declaration that Hamas would recognize Israel, because of course, Hamas again rejects recognizing Israel’s right to exist.

But, leave it to Hamas, the group is now setting the record straight, saying Abbas is dead wrong on that score.

U.S. twice promised to support Israeli position on Palestinian unity gov’t

NYT reported: American commitment was given both at the start of Obama’s presidency & again after his re-election.

An Israeli official told the New York Times on Monday that Israel had in the past received “a specific commitment from the American administration” that it would not be expected to negotiate with a Palestinian unity government if Hamas did not meet the criteria set by the Middle East Quartet: recognition of Israel, renunciation of terror and a commitment to honor past agreements.

But at least one expert has said that the unity pact will work in Israel’s favor: Arutz Sheva columnist Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an expert on the Israeli-Arab sector, and an Arabic literature professor at Bar-Ilan University.
