GAZA CITY — In a long hallway that looks more like a videogame arcade than a military base, Hamas security forces are holding target practice using assault rifles fitted with lasers — all without firing a bullet.

For the cash-strapped Hamas government, the system is a much-needed money saver that eliminates the need to train with live ammunition, which is in short supply in Gaza. After IAF Retaliation for Rockets Fired Thursday, Gaza Terrorists Fire Rockets Again

Sirens sound on Ashkelon coast, less than 24 hours after multiple rockets fired into Israel, additional rockets fired Friday morning, with no injuries reported.

Sirens were sounded in the Ashkelon region Friday. According to Channel 2, only one rocket has been fired and no one was reportedly hurt in the attack.

The sirens sounded less than 24 hours after skirmishes broke out between the IAF and Hamas. Four Kassam rockets were fired into southern Israel on Thursday night; there were no injuries reported. Israel Air Force hits several Hamas targets after terrorists fired salvo of rockets towards the town of Sderot.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) struck in Gaza on Thursday night, hours after terrorists fired several rockets towards Sderot and the surrounding communities.

According to Kol Yisrael radio, Palestinian Arab sources that targets in Gaza City and in northern Gaza were hit. These targets, they said, included two Hamas outposts.

Two law office managers and four lawyers from Isawiya in East Jerusalem were arrested on suspicion of abusing their attorney-client privilege, passing messages between Hamas prisoners and the organization’s operatives in Israel and abroad, and paying lawyers to visit the prisoners.

Hamas, the terrorist group governing Gaza, has replaced a nearly 80-year-old law with a harsh new one based on Sharia Islamic law. The new rules stipulate severe punishments such as lashes and amputations.

Faraj Al Ghoul, Legal Department head of Gaza’s Palestinian Legislative Council, announced the Gazan parliament will put the new law into effect, replacing Ordinance Number 74 that has been on the books since 1936. The ordinance, which was part of the British Mandate Criminal Code, outlawed same-sex acts between men. Continue Reading »

Al-Quds U. president resigns a few days after Hamas rally

Sari Nusseibeh, the president of the Palestinian Al-Quds University, resigned three days after a rally in support of Hamas at its eastern Jerusalem campus.

Nusseibeh will step down at the end of the academic year, according to an announcement on the university’s website. The announcement said that Nusseibeh announced his decision on Wednesday at a meeting of the university’s board of trustees, since he has reached the retirement age of 65.

US & UK urge UN to probe Israeli seizure of Iranian arms ship

IDF discovers Hamas terrorist tunnel near Gaza security fence

 

Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, announced they were successful in repairing the tunnel that the IDF exposed several months ago.

The IDF discovered a terror tunnel on Thursday near the Gaza Strip border fence, it was cleared for publication. However, Hamas denied the announcement, saying the army found an “old” tunnel.

Gaza’s lone power plant, shut off since Saturday due to a fuel shortage, will remain off until Monday according to the terror organization Hamas’s government. The responsible party for the extension appears to be the Palestinian Authority (PA), Hamas’s rival.

The power station will restart on Monday at 6 a.m., Deputy Chief of the Gaza energy authority Fathi al-Sheikh Khalil told AFP.
