Syria Threatens to Bomb Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport

Syria’s ambassador to the UN relays message to UN Security Council: Demand halt to Israeli airstrikes in Syria, otherwise we will retaliate against Israel’s international airport outside Tel Aviv.

Syria’s ambassador to the UN on Tuesday told the world body that his nation (presumably with the help of its Iranian allies) would attack Ben Gurion International Airport if Israel didn’t stop bombing targets in the war-torn country.

“Syria will practice its legitimate right of self-defense and respond to the Israeli aggression on Damascus International Airport in the same way on Tel Aviv airport,” Syrian Ambassador Bashar Jaafari warned members of the UN Security Council, insisting that they “stop the Israeli repeated aggressions on the Syrian Arab republic territories.” Continue Reading »

UPDATE: Israeli airstrike in Syria killed 12 Iranian Revolutionary Guard Soldiers

Despite Tehran’s denials of Iranian soldiers in Syria, the updated report from a UK-based NGO has 12 Iranian from the Revolutionary Guard killed along with 6 Syrian soldiers and three other non-Syrian nationals in the Israeli airstrike that was carried out by three squadrons of IAF jets.

Twelve soldiers belonging to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in Sunday’s Israeli airstrikes on Damascus’s International Airport, the UK-based NGO Syrian Observatory for Human Rights charged on Tuesday.

A total of 11 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Syria overnight, a monitor group claimed Monday morning.

Israeli fighter planes hit a number of Iranian positions in Syria, the IDF said Monday morning, in response to the launching of a surface-to-surface rocket that was carried out on Sunday by Iranian Quds forces operating in Syrian territory.

The targets of the predawn Israeli strikes Monday morning included Iranian weapons depots, an Iranian intelligence site, and a military training camp used by Iranian forces in Syria. Continue Reading »

Israeli satellite photos reveal destroyed missile storehouse after IDF strike in Syria

Following the Israeli Air Force strike at the Damascus Airport on Friday night, Israeli satellite firm, ImageSat International released images clearly showing 3 craters that were formed where an enormous arms warehouse had been standing.

Israeli satellite company ImageSat International released Monday images of the extensive damage caused to the ammunition warehouse at the Damascus international Airport following an Israeli airstrike on Friday night.

ImageSat estimates that the arms depot contained Iranian Fajr-5 missiles, among others. The satellite images show the complete destruction of the warehouse, with three craters formed where the military compound once stood. Continue Reading »

Israel’s PM confirms IDF destroyed hundreds of Iran & Hezbollah arms cashes in Syria

Israel’s PM Netanyahu came out Sunday and confirmed it was Israel’s Air Force that hit ‘hundreds’ of military targets belonging to the Iranian regime and its proxy, Hezbollah, after the explosions that rocked Damascus on Friday night were attributed to Israel in foreign press reports.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Sunday that the Israel Air Force struck Iranian targets in Syria over weekend, following Syrian reports of successful interceptions over Damascus.

Israeli Official: Israel Air Force operations in Syria continued after S-300 delivery

A senior Israeli official put to rest worries that since Syria accidentally downed a Russian intel-gathering plane during an IAF attack on Iranian targets in Syria, the introduction of S-300 anti-aircraft missile batteries have not curtailed continued IDF operations.

Countering Syria’s new S-300 missiles, Israel will use F-35i stealth fighters

Israel’s Army Radio reported that Israel will use its recently acquired F-35I ‘Adir’ aircrafts to counter escalated threat posed by Syria’s introduction of Russian S-300 missile systems into the area.

Israel will use the F-35I stealth fighter to attack Syria, Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) reported.

The decision comes after Syria began receiving on Tuesday its new S-300 surface-to-air missile defense system.

Russian plane possibly shot down accidentally during attack in Syria

U.S. source reports Russian aircraft was shot down by ground-to-air defensive missile originally meant to thwart suspected Israeli attack on weapons’ depot on the eastern outskirts of Latakia.

Russia’s Defense Ministry on Monday said one of its planes carrying 14 people on board “disappeared from the radar during the Israeli attack” after Syria’s state media reported that its air defenses had engaged a barrage of rockets fired from the ocean.

According to the statement radars also recorded the launch of missiles from a French frigate stationed in the Mediterranean.

Israel, Assad quiet as 2nd weapons depot in Syria attacked in 3 days

Syrian human rights NGO reports the missiles attacked more ammunition depots, this time at the technical industry institution located in the eastern outskirts of Latakia.

Missiles targeted several locations in the Syrian coastal city of Latakia on Monday but were intercepted and downed by air defenses, Syrian state media said.The official SANA news agency said state technical industry institutions in Latakia had been targeted, adding they are likely the result of Israeli strikes on a state technical company.

Israel has yet to comment on the incident.

Syria’s state media says Israel has launched a missile attack on Damascus International Airport Saturday, adding that Syrian air defenses shot down some of them.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said Israel does not comment on foreign reports.

Israel Air Force ‘tags’ jets that destroyed Syrian nuclear reactor

A ceremony was held on Thursday to mark the 11th anniversary of Operation “Outside the Box”, during which the Israeli Air Force (IAF) struck the nuclear reactor in Syria, and to commemorate the achievements of the IAF during the course of the operation.

Syrian state media said late Thursday that Syrian air defenses were triggered by Israeli fighter jets that had allegedly bombed three Iranian positions in Syria.

The Syrian defense systems “engaged and destroyed ‎hostile targets” near the capital of Damascus, the report said.
