13 Yr-Old Israeli Girl Invents Satellite System That Produces Oxygen

 

Roni Oron, from Ramat Hasharon, Israel, won the “Satellite is Born” competition hosted by the Israel Space Agency, with a satellite that has the potential to create oxygen in space.

 

A 13-year-old Israeli girl has invented a system for the production of oxygen in space, the Hebrew youth paper Ma’ariv L’Noar reported on Thursday, along with an interview with the budding teen scientist from Ramat Hasharon.

An Israeli firm is helping the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to unlock an iPhone that belonged to one of the San Bernardino shootings, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Wednesday.

The FBI is turning to Cellebrite, which provides forensic software, after pressuring iPhone manufacturer Apple to create a way to override the phone’s security.

Cellebrite offers a forensics system that can retrieve data hidden inside encrypted phones.

Israeli firm wins $70M Electronic Warfare system contract for IAF jets

Leading Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems announced on Monday that it has been awarded a contract to supply advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) systems for Israeli fighter jets.

The contract was awarded by the Directorate of Production and Procurement of the Israeli Defense Ministry, and is worth around $70 million.

Mobeego described its product as an “energy drink for the mobile phone” and the charging unit is even designed in the form of a can of energy drink. The Hermes 900 Kochav (“Star”), which became operational this week, is a medium-size multi-payload unmanned aerial vehicle, designed for long-endurance tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and communications missions.

Israeli 16 year-old develops GPS-activated ID tag to foil kidnappings

 

The kidnap & murder of 3 Jewish teenage boys by Palestinians in June 2014 inspired 16 year old Amit Saban to develop a “smart” dog tag, which transmits ID & location to authorities when activated.

A teenager from Ramat Hasharon has recently launched a startup that makes “smart” ID tags with built-in GPS technology that can help soldiers and civilians in distress, and even prevent abductions.

Facebook set to acquire Pebbles, another Israeli high-tech firm

With the purchase of an Israeli firm pioneering the field of virtual reality, Facebook will follow Apple, Intel & Microsoft who are already operating VR R&D capabilities in Israel.

Facebook is negotiating the acquisition of Israeli Pebbles Interfaces, which deals in one of the social network’s most promising current fields of activity – virtual and enhanced reality. Ynet’s sister publication Calcalist learned that after having acquired Oculus VR, Facebook now wants to buy Emil Alon and Nadav Grossinger’s company which develops gesture recognition technology.
