Unlike their ‘leaders’ Palestinians apathetic should US Embassy move to Jerusalem

 

As Palestinian leaders have been threatening the US with global “chaos, lawlessness & extremism” should the President-elect relocate the US Embassy to the Jewish Capital, a cross-section of Palestinians expressed overwhelming apathy, while left-wing Jerusalem bureaucrats are unimpressed with Trump, or his policy.

While much of the world expresses outrage that the US Embassy may relocate to Jerusalem under President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration, a cross-section of Palestinians outside the Old City’s Damascus Gate on Wednesday expressed overwhelming apathy.

Leading PLO official threatens US with harsh consequences if embassy moves to Jerusalem

 

Saeb Erekat continues to do what he does best – bully & threaten the world with “chaos, lawlessness & extremism.” This time, he says PLO will revoke its recognition of Israel, along with other harsh consequences, should Trump move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat warned on Monday that if the US embassy will be moved to Jerusalem by the incoming Trump administration PLO will revoke its recognition of Israel and that other harsh consequences may follow.

2,000 yr-old coin from Greek King Antiochus IV rule discovered in Jerusalem

Rio’s new mayor says city should have “walls like Jerusalem”

 

Having visited Israel dozens of times, Rio’s new mayor-elect told Jewish leaders that he wished the Brazilian city was ‘walled like Jerusalem,’ to prevent weapons & drugs from being brought in.

The mayor-elect of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Crivella, declared that Brazil’s second largest city should surround itself with “walls like Jerusalem.”

The major-elect, who is also an evangelical bishop, said the walls could prevent the entry of arms and drugs.

Palestinian envoy threatens to make US ‘miserable’ if Trump moves embassy to Jerusalem

Russian news quoted the Palestinian UN ambassador as saying moving US Embassy to Jerusalem would be in violation of int’l law and U.N. resolutions, and should Trump follow through, the Palestinian Authority would “unleash all diplomatic weapons” and “make life miserable for the White House.”

REPORT: Russian PM declares support of Jewish connection to Jerusalem

In a TV2 report, Russian PM Medvedev says, “Our country never denied Israel’s or the Jewish people’s rights to Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.”

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev spoke with Channel 2 about the Israel-Russia relationship.

During the interview Medvedev was asked about UNESCO’s decision to deny history and claim Israel has no connection to the Western Wall and other holy places in Jerusalem.

181 new housing units approved for Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood

City of Jerusalem is set to approve the postponed construction plans of more than 181 housing units in Jerusalem’s southern neighborhood of Gilo, which has so far been postponed due to pressure from the Obama White House.

The city of Jerusalem will approve new construction projects in areas located beyond the “Green Line”, including 181 new housing units in the neighborhood of Gilo in the southern part of the city, Channel 2 News revealed on Wednesday.

Palestinians threaten UNESCO not to oppose upcoming Jerusalem vote

The Palestinian Authority and the Jordanians have warned the 21-member states of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee not to oppose or abstain from a Jerusalem resolution on Wednesday in Paris.

The resolution, which refers to the Temple Mount solely by its Muslim name of Al-Haram Al Sharif, is expected to be approved by the committee at its 40th session.

Two people were killed and six others injured after a terrorist opened fire Sunday morning opposite the police station in northern Jerusalem, according to reports by MDA and police.

The attack took place at two different locations. A white car stopped and opened fire at the Ammunition Hill light rail station, located at the Central Police Headquarters intersection, injuring those standing at the station. 1st century gold coin with Nero’s image found in Jerusalem dig

A rare, well-preserved gold coin struck in 56-57 CE, bearing the image of Roman Emperor Nero, was found by archeologists from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte during a recent excavation on Jerusalem’s Mount Zion, just outside the Old City, it was announced Wednesday.

Described as an “emperor, theater actor, poet,” Nero, a flamboyant ruler who took the throne at age 17, was perhaps best known for killing his mother, who married his great uncle Claudius. Continue Reading »

Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat celebrated the decision of the Czech government not to cave to Palestinian pressure and show Tel Aviv – not Jerusalem – as the capital of Israel in school textbooks, after it had declared it would do so a week ago.

Palestinian Official: Jews Are Desecrating Jerusalem With Wine

The Muslim world refuses to acknowledge the religious and historical connection Jews have to Jerusalem, and so are quick to condemn Israel for “desecrating” the holy city at every opportunity.

For example, the head of the Palestinian Authority’s Committee for Education, Culture and Science has publicly decried the annual Jerusalem Wine Festival being held this week at the Art Garden of the Israel Museum and at the open-air Mamilla Mall adjacent to the Old City.

The Palestinian official, Murad Al-Sudani, said the wine-drinking Jews represented a “dangerous provocation,” especially those at the Mamilla venue, which is partially situated over an ancient Muslim cemetery. Continue Reading »
