Nine Shi’ite pilgrims from Lebanon kidnapped in Syria were freed late Friday night as part of a negotiated hostage deal that could see two Turkish pilots held by Lebanese militants released, officials said.

Lebanon sends national troops into Hezbollah dominated suburbs in southern Lebanon, taking control over checkpoints and halting Hezbollah activities in Christian areas.

Lebanon’s government has announced that it will send the national army to secure Hezbollah-dominated suburbs in the south of the country, including the terrorist movement’s stronghold in the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut.

The decision to send soldiers into Lebanese cities comes in the wake of multiple recent bombing attacks. The attacks have left more than 70 people dead and over 1,000 wounded.

The attackers appear to have targeted Hezbollah-dominated areas, possibly in revenge for Hezbollah’s heavy involvement in fighting in Syria. Continue Reading »

Lebanese Report: Syria, Iran & Hezbollah planning regional response to any attack on Syria

Syria, Iran, Hezbollah & other pro-Syrian groups plan to strike targets in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan & Israel should Syria come under attack.

 

 

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah have set up a military room to coordinate activities in the case the US and other countries attack Syria, according to sources quoted on Friday in the Lebanese Daily Star. The sources confirmed an earlier report by the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar that Hezbollah is mobilizing its forces in anticipation of an attack, specifically stating that “tens of thousands” of fighters and reservists have been called up.

1st Time Ever: 2 Arrested in Lebanon for rocket attacks on Israel

Lebanese authorities arrested two suspects for involvement in rocket attacks from the country’s territory into northern Israel earlier this month, The Daily Star reported on Saturday.

According to the report, the Lebanese Armed Forces stated that the suspects, Youssef Muhammad Fliti and Omar Abdel-Mawla al-Atrash, confessed to supplying the four rockets used in the attacks.

The suspects said that they transferred the rockets to a man in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre.

Lebanese Jihadists: Rocket attack indicates resumption of war against the Jews

 

The Lebanese-based terrorist group that officially claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on northern Israel last week, said more attacks against the ‘Jewish conquerors’ will be forthcoming.

The Lebanon-based Azzam Abdullah Brigades, which claimed responsibility for the launching of four rockets toward the Western Galilee region last week issued a statement Tuesday saying the Ziad al-Jarah Battalion fired four 122-millimeter Grad rockets on its behalf toward “the cities of Nahariya and Akko in occupied Palestine.”

IDF Boosts Naval Presence off Lebanese Coast

After Lebanese bombings & rocket attack on Israel leads the IDF to station a new, advanced warship on Israel’s northern border.

The IDF plans to purchase a “Super Dvora Mk III” warship which will be stationed off the coast of Israel’s northern border, near Lebanon, the IDF website reports.

The ship, a fast patrol boat, has until now been used off the coast of Gaza, while the IDF has used only the Super Dvora Mk I and Mk II in the north.

Residential Areas in Galilee Sustain Hits Despite Iron Dome

 

The IDF’s Iron Dome battery deployed in northern Israel  intercepted one rocket launched at a northern Israeli city, but failed to intercept 2 other rockets that hit 2 other Galilee communities.

The Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted a rocket for the first time along the Israeli-Lebanese border Thursday, but apparently, out of the four rockets that were launched from Tyre, Lebanon, two managed to hit residential areas.

Israeli aircraft struck a terror target south of Beirut on Thursday night, said the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

According to the statement, a direct hit was identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases.

The IDF statement said that the airstrike came in response to Thursday afternoon’s rocket attack from Lebanon at northern Israel.

Lebanon Fired 4 Rockets into Northern Israel; IDF No Retaliation yet

Lebanon fires at least 4 rockets toward Israel; residents of Akko, Nahariya urged to stay close to bomb-shelters.

At least four rockets were fired from Lebanon Thursday afternoon, with at least one confirmed as having struck in the area of Nahariya.

Fired at IsraelSeveral residents have been treated for shock.

IDF Radio reported that bomb shelters in the northern city of Akko (Acre) have been opened for public use, and the IDF is urging residents of the north to remain close to shelters.
