Report: Hamas trains Egyptian Islamists in Sinai in planting car bombs

Egypt state TV reported Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, has been training their Egyptian peers. Hamas denies allegations.

Egypt on Thursday extended its ‘State of Emergency’ by 2 months because of the security situation.

The Hamas Islamist group ruling Gaza has been teaching Egyptian Islamists how to plant bombs in cars, Egyptian state television said on Thursday.

Hamas also gave 400 landmines to Egyptian militant groups, said the television. Hamas is an offshoot of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

Hamas rejected the allegations on Thursday.

“This is completely incorrect,” said Fawzi Barhoum, spokesman for the Islamist group.  He said that the report was an “attempt to demonize Hamas”.

Presidential Medal to be awarded to Spielberg , Kahalani & Wiesel

 

 

Israel’s President Peres announced the names of Israel’s Presidential Medal. This year’s recipients include Elie Wiesel, Avigdor Kahalani and Steven Spielberg among others.

According to the president’s office, 2013 recipients will include: Brigadier General (Res.) Avigdor Kahalani, Professor Elie Wiesel, filmmaker Steven Spielberg and Rabbi Elimelech Firer.

The committee deciding the medal recipients included dignitaries such as former Supreme Court President Meir Shamger, who headed the committee, and Israel’s fifth president Yitzhak Navon. Continue Reading »

Spain’s Parliament vote on Holocaust Studies being obligatory

According to Wednesday’s report in Spain’s El Pais daily, the country’s ruling People’s Party submitted a proposed amendment to the education law for approval by Spain’s lower House.

Spain’s ruling People’s Party recently submitted the proposed amendment to the education law for approval by Spain’s lower house, according to a report Wednesday in the El Pais daily.

If passed, the proposed amendment would introduce the genocide of Jews by Nazi Germany into the curriculum “at various stages of basic education,” the Spanish news agency Europa Press reported Thursday. Continue Reading »

Police Minister Promises: No More Soccer Games on Temple Mount

It’s bad enough that Jews are more or less banned from their holiest site – the Temple Mount – but what’s even painful is the fact that those who are allowed to use it on a regular basis desecrate the sacred site on a regular basis. 2 Syrian Shells Again Fall in Israeli Golan Heights

IDF Analysis:  Syrian fire into Israeli territory likely unintentional.

Two mortar shells fired from Syria landed in the southern Golan Heights adjacent to the Israeli-Syrian border on Thursday.

Initial evidence suggests that the shells were a result of errant fire from Syria’s civil war that accidentally entered Israeli territory, the IDF stated.

No injuries or damage were reported in the incident. IDF soldiers were searching the area for the spent shells.

Clashes erupted early Thursday between Palestinians and Israeli security forces at Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank, as some 1,400 Jewish worshipers gathered for prayers at the holy site.

Arab Gang of 4 Caught in Hevron Hills with Firebombs in Hand

A group of 4 young would-be terrorists were nabbed by alert IDF soldiers just minutes before they could throw their homemade firebombs at nearby passing Jewish drivers.

Soldiers caught four young terrorists on Wednesday night, just moments before they could attack Israelis on a nearby highway.

The dramatic capture took place in the Hevron Hills in the Judea region, south of Jerusalem.

Soldiers with the Kfir Brigade noticed four suspicious figures hiding near a heavily used junction. They approached the four, who attempted to escape into the nearby Arab town of Kfar Awa. The soldiers were faster, and managed to apprehend them. Continue Reading »

PLO group calls for attacks on Israel

A PLO group, aligned with Fatah and under the leadership of PA President Mahmoud Abbas, has ignored the US led peace talks calling on deadly attacks on Israeli civilians beginning on Yom Kippur.

JERUSALEM — The Al Aksa Martyrs’ Brigades called on followers to launch attacks against Israel.

Tragedy hits Tel Aviv: Building collapse, 1 dead, 5 injured

One man was killed and five people were injured Wednesday when a ceiling in a three-story building in south Tel Aviv‘s Herzl Street collapsed.

The incident occurred as infrastructure work was being held at the site. One man in his thirties who sustained critical injuries died shortly after the collapse. The official close to the French president, who spoke on condition of anonymity because negotiations remained sensitive, said Russia objected not only to making the resolution militarily enforceable, but also to blaming chemical attack on the Syrian government and demanding that those responsible be taken before an international criminal court.

Archaeologist Dr. Eilat Mazar, who unearthed what is widely considered one of Israel’s greatest historical finds, has been speaking to Arutz Sheva about the emotional moment of the discovery.

In summer excavations at the foot of the Temple Mount, Mazar unearthed two bundles of treasure containing thirty-six gold coins, gold and silver jewelry as well as a gold medallion with the menorah (Temple candelabrum) symbol etched into it. Also etched into the 10-cm. medallion are a shofar (ram’s horn) and the image of a Torah scroll.
