Jordan grants release to jailed soldier who murdered 7 Israeli schoolgirls in 1997

 

 

Three years after Israel & Jordan signed their historic peace treaty, Jordanian soldier Ahmed Daqamseh opened fire on 8th-grade Israeli schoolgirls killing seven and wounding another five.
• Daqamseh escaped death penalty when the Jordanian military tribunal ruled he was mentally unstable.

A Jordanian soldier who in 1997 killed seven Israeli schoolgirls was released Sunday after serving 20 years in prison.

The attack took place on March 13, 1997, when Cpl. Ahmed Daqamseh of the Jordanian army opened fire on a group of seventh- and eighth-grade Israeli schoolgirls visiting the Island of Peace, a joint Israeli-Jordanian tourist resort under Jordanian rule. Continue Reading »

An Iraqi Shiite brigade, supported with Russian tanks, trained by the Islamic Republic & backed with Iranian rockets, declared its intentions to liberate the Golan Heights for Syria’s Assad regime.

Israel refuses entry to British pro-Palestinian activist and BDS promoter

 

The refusal to allow entry of the chairman of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, which works to promote boycotts to harm the Jewish State, is in accordance to the policies set by Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, the Immigration Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

IDF’s secret missile unit Meitar closes with Artillery using 5th-generation Tammuz missile

 

Although the elite Meitar unit is being shuttered, the Israeli made Tammuz missile will continue to see action, as a new 5th-generation version with an extended range of 30km is already in use within the Artillery Corps.

After 30 years of operations, the IDF is closing the “Meitar” special operations unit. The Artillery Corps recently held a ceremony to mark the end of operations for the unit, which was responsible for operating the long range precision-guided Tammuz missile.

IDF begins training women to become integrated as tank crew members

 

IDF launches pilot program, with the training of 15 women that will begin this coming summer, after completing their basic training. “We’re giving this a real chance,” says Armored Corps chief Brig. Gen. Guy Hasson.

The military on Thursday launched a pilot program in which women will be trained as tank operators. The program is part of the IDF’s efforts to increase gender integration in infantry combat units.

Hamas Legislator Arrested By IDF

 

Israel’s Shin Bet has confirmed that the IDF arrest was carried out on Thursday morning just outside of Hebron, and will be followed up by a thorough investigation of the Hamas-affiliated lawmaker, Samir Halaika.

The IDF arrested Hamas lawmaker Samir Halaika early Thursday morning in her home in a Palestinian village outside of Hebron, the Shin Bet confirmed.

Israel makes history as it becomes an energy exporter

 

Jordan has increased its economic ties to Israel by beginning to import natural gas, as part of its 2014 deal to purchase 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

An Israeli company said Thursday it has started exporting gas from an offshore field to Jordan, marking the country’s first ever exports of natural gas.

The exports to Jordan began in January, Delek Drilling — part of a consortium leading the development of Israel’s offshore gas reserves — recently told AFP.

Iran blocks Waze GPS navigation for being ‘Made in Israel’

 

Although the app is widely used among Iranian drivers, the Iranian news agency FARS reports a temporarily block of the GPS navigation application Waze is currently in effect due to gov’t concerns, since its development was in the Jewish State.

An operation to bring down a weapon parts and combat accessories smuggling network was finished Tuesday night as the IDF, Shin Bet, Israel Police and customs stormed the last operating shop in Nablus, seizing illegally smuggled equipment and arresting the shop owner.
