Egypt’s leading daily presents its latest “Zionist conspiracy” theory

Egypt’s top newspaper is basically using a camel-droppings angle in its latest ‘Jews-poisoning-the-well’ story.

What is strange here is that Al-Ahram effectively admits this is a conspiracy theory. Weird…

 

 

Today, the most widely circulating Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, has run a front-page report headlined in red and bold, ”Israeli conspiracy on Sinai’s underground water.”

Hamas announces steps toward ending feud with Fatah

Gazan Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced a series of measures on Monday  aimed at bringing reconciliation between Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, and its main rival, Fatah, which controls the Palestinian Authority that runs the West Bank.

Iranian lawmaker, cleric, and Majilis (council) member Mohammed Nabavian declared Monday that Iran does need a nuclear bomb – to destroy Israel.

Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb in “two weeks” if it gets “access to 270 kilograms of 20 percent [enriched uranium], 10 tons of 5 percent, and 20 thousand centrifuges,” Nabavian stated, according to Iranian media reports. “We are not looking for a nuclear bomb, but having a nuclear bomb is necessary to put down Israel.” Continue Reading »

“What is certain is that it was not an accident,” Rana al-Jamal, who lives in the Palestinian city of Ramallah, told the Czech newspaper Dnes in an interview.

The 16-year-old died Friday afternoon from gunshot wounds sustained Thursday after he and several other Palestinians approached the security fence separating Israel from the Gaza Strip, according to a report Friday on Israel Radio.

The teenager was identified by the Ma’an news agency as Adnan Abu Khater.

“Yes I can confirm that,” spokeswoman Andrea Zoulova told Reuters when asked about a report on the discovery of weapons. She gave no details about the type or quantity of weapons found.
