Israel Not Interested in UN ‘War Crimes’ Facade

The EU & US join Jerusalem in calling the UN’s commission a biased spectacle that cannot possibly produce true justice

Israel, the United States and the European Union have all dismissed a UN commission of inquiry into possible war crimes committed during the Gaza war as little more than a sideshow with a foregone conclusion.

The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Monday named a three-man panel to investigate allegations of Israeli war crimes during the Jewish state’s month-long battle against Gaza’s terrorist infrastructure.

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the committee amounted to a “kangaroo court” whose findings were “predetermined.”

Pro-Palestinian organizations have announced that they will begin sabotaging the operations of shipping company Zim in the United States.

Under a banner of “Block the Boat for Gaza,” the action’s organizers called for people to stop the firm’s vessels from docking at ports and unloading their merchandise.

Yorkshire Police announced they will launch an investigation into comments made by Galloway, the Huffington Post UK reported.

His comments, caught on camera and distributed via YouTube, are not the first time the MP has gotten in trouble over his position on Israel: In 2013, he stormed out of a debate in Oxford, claiming “I don’t debate with Israelis.” Continue Reading »

Gallup Poll: Younger Americans unsupportive in backing Israel in Gaza war

65% of Republicans calls Israel’s actions justified, 36% of Independents saying they were justified, but only 31% of Democrats agreeing.

WASHINGTON — A Gallup poll shows that support among Americans for Israel during the Gaza Strip conflict is divided, and is low among younger Americans.

The poll posted on the pollster’s website Thursday showed a statistical dead heat between those who believe Israel’s actions against Hamas are justified, 42%, and those who believe they are unjustified, 39%The difference was within the poll’s margin of error of four percentage points.

Reactions to Hamas were lopsided, with 70% calling the group’s actions unjustified and just 11% describing them as justified.

Israeli Knesset Member Questions & Condemns Absurdity of American Flight Ban

Sudden lifting of FAA flight ban after U.S. Senator Cruz asks pertinent questions suggests nefarious motives

Late Tuesday, America’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) placed a ban on all flights to Israel after a rocket fired from Gaza landed about a mile from Ben Gurion Airport. The European Union quickly followed suit, and air traffic to the Jewish state took a sudden and devastating dive.

Israeli Member of Knesset Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) pointed out the absurdity of the flight ban in a post to her Facebook profile:

“The American government has halted flights from the US to Israel because a Palestinian rocket from Gaza landed [in a town near the airport].

Erdogan continued to ratchet up his rhetoric against the Jewish State over its offensive, threatening to further harm to already badly frayed relations between the two countries, once regional allies.

“We are all Palestinians” and “Israel killers, Hollande accomplice,” shouted the protesters, according to witness accounts. Police fired teargas fired at the protesters, some of who retaliated by hurling rocks at security officers.

The US public’s support for Israel is at near-record levels, according to a Pew Research Center poll, despite the current violence and images of the destruction in the Gaza Strip playing out nightly on television screens across America.

Furthermore, the poll – carried out from July 8 to July 14 – indicates that support for Israel among blacks and Hispanics – demographic groups to which Israeli advocacy groups are increasingly reaching out – is more than double what it is for the Palestinians.

According to The Associated Press (AP), several thousand people crowded the streets outside the Israeli Embassy in west London, waving placards that read “Gaza: End the Siege” and “Freedom for Palestine.”

U.S. lawmakers back Israel in Gaza conflict by introducing resolution

The resolution supports Israel’s right to defend itself against unprovoked rocket attacks from the terrorist group Hamas.

 

 

WASHINGTON – A resolution in support of Israel’s right to defend itself against rocket fire from Gaza was introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives.

The resolution, which has more than 50 bipartisan sponsors, was introduced Wednesday by Reps. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) and Tom Cole (R-Okla.) in response to the attacks on Israel following the murder last month of three Israeli teenagers.
