Obama sends Hamas $50 million to assistance and create jobs in Gaza

 

The US Agency for Int’l Development, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, will distribute the $50 million over 5 years to provide humanitarian assistance and create jobs in the Hamas controlled enclave.

The United States on Monday announced a $50 million humanitarian aid program for the Gaza Strip.

State of Israel’s population: Over 8.5 million, annual growth of 2.2%

 

Israel’s population grew by 2.2% since last year’s Independence Day, with 75% of the Jewish population as “Sabras” (born in Israel), 36,000 made Aliyah and approximately 195,000 babies were born, bringing total to about 8.522 million.

With the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the population stood at about 806,000. 68 years later on Yom Haatzmaut (Independence day) 2016, Israel’s population stands at approximately 8.522 million, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The Jewish population is approximately 6.377 million (74.8% of the population), the Arab population is approximately 1.771 million (20.8%) and the rest of the population (non-Arab Christians, other faiths and no religious affiliation by registering in the Population Registry) is approximated at 374,000 (4.4%). Hamas blames Abbas’ Palestinian Authority for hoarding Israel’s electricity

 

Israel provides part of Gaza’s electricity, yet Abbas’ PA has refused to pay the $400k bill for electricity provided by Israel, not only to Gaza, but used in Judea & Samaria as well.

Hamas, which advocates jihad to destroy the State of Israel and calls to boycott the Jewish state, demanded a greater supply of electricity from Israel to Gaza on Sunday.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri charged the “Israeli occupation” with responsibility for a house fire “which burned to death this week three toddler members of the al-Hindi family in Gaza.” The fire broke out due to the family lighting candles in their apartment, as their neighborhood had been suffering from a blackout at the time.
