Finance Minister Lapid said that Operation Protective Edge shouldn’t have an effect on the state budget – hopefully….if it’s short.

By Yosef Berger

In an interview with Channel Ten Monday night, Finance Minister Yair Lapid said that it was unlikely that the costs of Operation Protective Edge would have much of an effect on the state budget – unless the operation continued for much longer.

“We don’t count the bills during wartime, but it does not appear that this operation will have a long-term effect on the economy. We have arranged for money to pay for the operation from within the current budget,” Lapid said. Continue Reading »

Israel must continue its weapons blockade on Gaza

Hamas has proven it’s gov’t ignores the indiscriminate firing of lethal missiles on civilian cities, so, after a ceasefire Jerusalem must maintain a forceful blockade to prevent the replacement of advanced rockets, like those being fired this past week on Israel’s civilians.

Whenever the current conflict in Gaza ends, and whatever the terms of any cease-fire, Israel will have to maintain its weapons’ siege against Gaza.

HighTech: Google Glass alerts Israelis with time & place of incoming rockets

A new application for Google Glassware provides immediate, real-time status on missile attacks. The alerts provide the time & location of the attack, giving users the time to take cover.

By Iddo Genuth

Rockets have been raining down on Israeli cities at a rate of over 100 a day for the past week. Although the Iron Dome anti-missile system has been able to intercept a large majority of those projectiles and prevent serious damage, some of them did get through, injuring civilians. Even when Iron Dome is able to destroy the incoming rocket, debris from the rocket and the interceptor fall and scatter over a large area – something that might prove lethal for unsheltered civilians.
