Israel Aerospace Industries to build world’s 1st elevated rapid-transit line in Israel

A pilot network will be built at the IAI campus in central Israel & if successful, will be followed by a fully operational rapid-transit system in Tel Aviv.

REUTERS – California-based skyTran has teamed up with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to construct the world’s first public pilot project for skyTran’s elevated transit network.

A number of skyTran projects are being planned globally, including in India and the United States, pending the success of the pilot in Israel.

The pilot will be a 400-500 meter (yard) loop built at IAI’s campus in central Israel and, if successful, will be followed by a commercial network in Tel Aviv in the coming years, skyTran CEO Jerry Sanders told Reuters, without disclosing the cost.

Little Israel Boasts Cyber Exports 2nd Only to United States

The Jewish state has developed a global influence in cyber-related innovations & industries that far out-steps its tiny size.

Israel in 2013 boasted $3 billion in cyber-related exports, more than all other nations in the world combined outside of the United States.

Israeli experts in the field told the annual Herzliya Conference earlier this month that the Jewish state’s cyber exports represent some 5 percent of the entire global market, and that the figure could easily reach 10 percent in the next five years.

Other figures of interest include the fact that 11 percent of all global cyber-related investments come to Israel, and that 14.5 percent of all cyber firms worldwide that received funding in 2013 were Israeli-owned. Continue Reading »

A Palestinian Arab girl was killed and three others wounded in Gaza after a rocket fired at Israel by terrorists in the Hamas-enclave fell short, landing in Gaza itself.

Islamic organization strong-arm Australia over East Jerusalem terminology

OIC urges its 57 Islamic ambassadors to Australia to strenuously condemn Canberra’s description of East Jerusalem as ‘disputed’ instead of ‘occupied.’

 

SYDNEY – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned Australia for refusing to refer to East Jerusalem as “occupied,” and urged its 57 member states to take “necessary measures” against Canberra’s “illegal position,” leaving open the possibility of a trade boycott.

Chinese engineering firm to build $1b private shipping port in Ashdod

Now that China Harbor will be developing the port in Ashdod, Jerusalem can use this new port as a bargaining chip with dockworkers’ unions. No longer will the country be blackmailed with union strikes costing Israel millions in lost revenues.

The first private port to be developed under the state’s port reforms will be located in Ashdod and built by China Harbour Engineering Company, a Chinese government-owned firm, TheMarker has learned.

Mike Huckabee: United States must help Israel bring back abducted teens

Russia’s UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, the current council president, told reporters he proposed the press statement after listening to a Palestinian appeal for council action, but one council member wanted stronger language and one didn’t want any reference to Israel.
