Iranian Foreign Minister condemned in Teheran for condemning Holocaust

Islamic hardliners in Iran’s parliament have summoned Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif over public comments condemning the Holocaust, the official news agency IRNA reported on Monday.

Zarif, who is also Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, caused an uproar among conservatives in Iran when he called the Holocaust a “horrifying tragedy” in an interview with a German television station late last month.

The anti-Semitic face of Facebook

 

How can a Facebook page devoted to ‘Jewish ritual murder’ not be an overt and obvious violation of Facebook’s Terms of Service?

Facebook has a page (at least one) dedicated to the subject of Jewish ritual murder also known as “Blood libel.” Facebook also has much vaunted community standards which do “not permit individuals or groups to attack others based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition.”

Hundreds of Diary of Anne Frank, Holocaust books vandalized in Tokyo libraries

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has expressed its “shock and deep concern” over the vandalizing of hundreds of copies of the Diary of Anne Frank in libraries across Tokyo, Japan.

The council of public libraries in Tokyo said at least 250 copies of the diary or publications containing biographies on Anne Frank, Nazi persecution of Jews and related materials were torn, according to an AFP report.

After Spanish law for exiled Jewish return, Muslims demand equal status

Spanish Muslims say: New law should include all those expelled, otherwise Spain’s decision is ‘selective, if not racist.’

Spanish Muslims are urging their government to grant citizenship to descendants of Muslims who were expelled from Spain, following a bill granting that right to Jews whose ancestors were forced to leave during the Inquisition.

The demand was made this week in a statement by the Association for Historical Legacy of Al-Andalus, the Spanish news agency EFE reported on February 17.

“The Spanish state should grant the same rights to all those who were expelled, otherwise their decision is selective, if not racist,” Bayi Loubaris, the association’s president, told EFE.

Hamas rejects UN textbooks promoting human rights in Gaza schools

The Hamas gov’t believes the UN curriculum does not represent the ‘ideology & philosophy’ of the Palestinian population, reports Hamas spokesman for the Education Ministry.

 

Gaza‘s Hamas authorities have blocked a UN refugee agency from introducing  into local schools, saying it ignores Palestinian cultural and focuses too heavily on “peaceful” means of conflict resolution.

Motesem al-Minawi, spokesman for the Hamas-run Education Ministry, said Thursday that the government believes the curriculum does not match the “ideology and philosophy” of the local population.

He said the textbooks, used in grades 7 through 9, did not sufficiently address Palestinian suffering and did not acknowledge the right to battle Israel.

Israelis stunned to find Nazi paraphernalia sold in Bulgarian tourist shops

 

An Israeli traveling in a Bulgarian town was shocked to find gift shop mugs with swastikas and Hitler’s picture.

An Israeli traveling in Bulgaria was shocked to find mugs carrying the picture of Adolf Hitler and decorated with swastikas in a souvenir shop in a ski resort. She later realized the shop was not only one carrying the Nazi paraphernalia, and found similar trinkets in other shops on the same street.

On the final day of their five-day trip, the mother and son entered a gift shop in the town’s main street and were surprised to find the mugs with swastikas and Hitler’s picture offered for sale, stacked near cosmetic items and various trinkets. Continue Reading »

Israel’s Strategic Affairs and Intelligence Minister: Abbas ‘most anti-Semitic leader’ in world

Israeli Strategic Affairs & Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz reveals the obvious, that under PA leadership, ‘level of anti-Israel & anti-Semitic incitement in the PA has reached new heights.’

 

 

Strategic Affairs and Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz called Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas the world’s most anti-Semitic leader, AFP reported on Thursday.

“Since Ahmadinejad left the political stage, Abu Mazen [Abbas] is the number one leader in injecting anti-Semitic and anti-Israel poison,” Yuval Steinitz said, at the Institute for National Security Studies conference at Tel Aviv University last Sunday.

Belgium’s Parliament president condemns their revisionist lawmaker who said Zionists bankrolled the Holocaust, and did quasi-Nazi salute in the parliament.

The president of Belgium’s parliament condemned the actions of a lawmaker who said that Zionists were responsible for the Holocaust and performed a quasi-Nazi salute in parliament.

“I would like to reinforce my condemnation of these hateful acts,” Andre Flahaut said on Jan. 23 in reference to the actions of Laurent Louis, who on Jan. 16 said in parliament: “The Holocaust was set up and financed by the pioneers of Zionism.”

The Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism, a newly-established watchdog, pledged during its inaugural event to  focus much of its activities on Louis — an independent member of the lower house of Belgium’s Federal Parliament. Continue Reading »

Pigs’ Heads sent to Israeli Embassy, Synagogue & Jewish Museum of Rome

While responding to a bomb threat against Rome’s main synagogue, Italian police make a grisly discovery.

Boxes containing pigs’ heads have been sent to the Israeli embassy in Rome and the city’s synagogue, Italian media reported Saturday.

The package mailed to the embassy in the wealthy Parioli area of the Italian capital was intercepted by police after other similar parcels were sent to the synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Rome.

Bomb disposal experts who rushed to the scene discovered the grisly head, which they believe came from a slaughterhouse.

A letter inside contained derogatory comments about the Holocaust and references to Theodor Herzl, considered to be the founder of modern political Zionism, the Repubblica daily said. Continue Reading »

Catholic Church in Poland Unveils 18th Century Blood Libel Painting

On Thursday for the Catholic Church‘s Int’l Day of Judaism, a controversial picture was uncovered to expose realities of the church’s anti-Semitic past.

The Catholic Church of Poland unveiled a painting on Thursday that had been kept hidden since 2006, after protests from both Catholics and Jews opposed the depiction of Jews murdering Christian children in the classic anti-Semitic blood libel trope.

The painting, an 18th century CE work by Italian painter Charles de Prevot called “Mord Rytualny (Ritual Murder),” has been mounted on a wall at the cathedral in Sandomierz but hidden behind a red curtain for the past 8 years due to its contents. Continue Reading »
