REPORT: The ‘Human Rights Intern’l Humanitarian Law Secretariat’ sounds respectable, but because they continue to finance Palestinian terrorist groups, and refuse to stop, Switzerland ended its funding and support of the West Bank NGO.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry announced that it  suspended funds and support for the Ramallah-based Palestinian NGO Human Rights International Humanitarian Law Secretariat because the organization failed to cut ties to terrorism, according to a Sunday report in the Swiss newspaper Sonntags Zeitung.

North Carolina now 22nd US state to forbid state from doing business with BDS supporters

 

In another major #BDSfail: The new legislation signed by North Carolina’s governor, not only prohibits the state’s agencies from engaging in business agreements with companies supporting BDS, it also mandates divestment from organizations/businesses that do.

The governor of the US state North Carolina, Roy Cooper signed legislation last Thursday making it illegal for the state to conduct business with companies associated with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement aganst Israel (BDS), the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) reported.

The action, making North Carolina the 22nd US state to outlaw state agencies from doing business with BDS affiliated organizations, received praise from the local Jewish federation of Raleigh- Cary as well as from the Israel Action Network, an initiative of the Jewish Federations of North America and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs. Rabbi fuming as she and 4 other BDS activists denied boarding flight to Israel

#BDSfail: Lufthansa officials at Dulles International Airport inform 5 ‘Jewish Voice for Peace’ activists that a gov’t representative in Jerusalem refuses to allow them to land in Israel.

Five members of an interfaith delegation to Israel were prevented from boarding their flight from Washington, DC, reportedly due to their activism on behalf of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

The Jewish Voice for Peace organization said in a statement Monday that the delegation tried to check into its Lufthansa flight at Dulles International Airport, only to be told that the Israeli government had ordered the airline not to let the five passengers aboard. Continue Reading »

BUSTED: BDS supporter, UK filmmaker Ken Loach profiting from Israel ‘every year’

#BDSfail: The Guardian reports that avid BDS supporter Ken Loach has knowingly received handsome royalties from his films being distributed and screened in Israeli cinemas for over 25 years.
– Loach’s moral hypocrisy for repeatedly attacking Radiohead for “supporting Apartheid” by performing in Israel didn’t go unnoticed.

Pro-Israel advocacy group wins court case against BDS at University of Ontario

 

#BDSfail: Invoking a passed BDS motion, Ontario university’s student association banned a pro-Israel North American advocacy organization from participating in an event last year. The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal found the student association guilty of discrimination.

A pro-Israel North American advocacy organization announced on Thursday that it had won a legal victory after an Ontario university’s student association banned it from participating in an event last year, due to its connection with Israel.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke gives Palestinians ‘the finger’ for disrupting concert

#BDSfail: Pro-Palestinian demonstrators wave flags & protest signs during a music festival in Scotland, angering guitarist/singer Thom Yorke, who responded with his middle finger at protesters trying to bully and intimidate the group into cancelling their concert in Israel later this month.

Pro-Palestinian activists waved flags and banners protesting Radiohead’s arrival in Israel on July 19th and called for a cultural boycott of the Jewish state during a performance at the Transmight Festival in Glasgow, Scotland.

#BDSfail: Events scheduled for both Frankfurt and Bonn, cancelled

 

The Jewish communities and Wiesenthal Center welcomed the decisions of cancelling the separate pro-Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions conferences that were set to take place in Frankfurt and also in Bonn.

After a wave of objections to a boycott-Israel event scheduled for next week in Bonn, Germany, the Jewish community there on Monday announced its delight with cancellation of the gathering and a widely criticized antisemitic talk that was to be given at it.

A separate pro-Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions conference set to take place in June in Frankfurt was also canceled.

Israel refuses entry to British pro-Palestinian activist and BDS promoter

 

The refusal to allow entry of the chairman of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, which works to promote boycotts to harm the Jewish State, is in accordance to the policies set by Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, the Immigration Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Unprecedented #BDSfail: Swiss gov’t prohibits state funding of BDS

Marking the first time any European parliament acknowledged the moral equivalence and/or correlation between anti-Semitism and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, the Swiss parliament now prohibits government funding of BDS, categorizing it along with other racist and anti-Semitic organizations.

Switzerland’s parliament made an unprecedented decision on Wednesday to prevent the state from “financing any organization which supports racism, anti-Semitism, or the BDS.”

The Bank für Sozialwirtschaft (Bank for Social Economy) has closed the account of a German group that promotes the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against the Jewish state.

view videoIn what may be Steven Tyler’s final tour as lead singer, the legendary rock band, Aerosmith will perform once again at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park.

Aerosmith, one of the most successful rock bands in history, has closed on a deal to perform at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park in May 2017, in what may be the last tour of lead singer Steven Tyler’s career as lead singer of the band.

As reported by Ran Boker and Ami Friedman of Ynet’s sister publication Yedioth Ahronoth, Aerosmith has been in advanced talks in recent months with Israeli producers.

Paris regional council adopts amendment that outlaws funding BDS promoters

 

“In accordance with the law, I will not tolerate any form of boycotts against Israel in the Ile-de-France region,” said the council’s president, Valérie Pécresse of the UMP party of former President Nicolas Sarkozy.

A regional council in France that includes Paris passed a precedent-setting amendment that excludes funding from promoters of boycotts against Israel.

The council of the Ile-de-France region, where right-wing parties have a majority, adopted the amendment Thursday, the Le Monde Juif website reported the following day.

In France, several dozen promoters of a boycott against Israel have been convicted of inciting hate, or discrimination.

#BDSfail: The Bank of Ireland shuts down BDS accounts in Ireland & in Northern Ireland

 

Following the enactment of anti-BDS legislation in the US which led numerous of other banks in several other European countries to close BDS accounts, the Bank of Ireland, the nation’s oldest financial institution, also shut down the anti-Israel movement’s accounts.

Advocates for Israel have struck a blow against the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement in Ireland, as they have recently managed to convince the Bank of Ireland, that nation’s oldest financial institution, to shut down the account of BDS group Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC).
