Trump Envoy Catapults Israeli-Palestinian Water Deal Previously Stalled for Years

Signed by Jordan in 2015, President Trump’s US envoy Jason Greenblatt hailed the Palestinian signing of the historic water/power agreement by saying this deal “will lead to economic improvement in the lives of the Palestinians.”

US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt announced Thursday that Israel and the Palestinians have reached an agreement concerning the long-discussed Red Sea-Dead Sea Canal, which includes the sale of 33 million cubic meters of water to the Palestinian Authority to relieve the water situation there.

Greenblatt, at a press conference with Regional Cooperation Minister Tzahi Hanegbi and PA Water Authority head Mazen Ghuneim, said this agreement and the accord signed Monday between Israel and the PA that will significantly increase the power supply to Jenin are examples of how the two sides can cooperate to improve Palestinian living conditions. India’s PM Modi to make historic 3-day trip to Israel, bolstering ties & economic cooperation

Trade between Israel, India up 2,000% since countries established diplomatic relations

Bilateral trade between Israel and India has risen by some 2,000% since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, growing from $200 million in 1992 to $4.17 billion in 2016, the Economy and Industry Ministry said Tuesday.

Israeli firm to train Chinese in aircraft maintenance

 

With 60 years of aircraft experience, Israel Aerospace Industries is further expanding by establishing for the first time in its history, an aviation academy for professional aircraft technicians in China.

The Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a $10 million contract with the city of Shantou in Guangdong Province on Thursday to build a training center where Israeli teams will teach the Chinese to maintain passenger aircraft.

Israel’s military & economic cooperation with India is booming

 

With India becoming one of Israel’s largest clients seeking military hardware, with annual deals worth over $1 billion, both sides acknowledge a win-win situation for both Israel and India.

Twenty-five years after Jerusalem and New Delhi established diplomatic relations, India has become one of the largest buyers of Israeli military hardware with annual defense deals worth over $1 billion. Prime Minister Narenda Modi is expected to undertake the historic first visit by an Indian PM to visit Jerusalem in early July, to highlight the growing bilateral relationship between the countries.

Israel Aerospace Industries signs historic $2Billion missile deal with India

Israel has been cooperating with India in various technologies & military systems, including missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles during the last few years, bringing India and Israel into a uniquely strong and strategic partnership.

Israel Aerospace Industries has been awarded a $2 billion Indian military hardware deal, considered to be “the largest defense contract in Israel’s defense industries’ history.”

IAI announced on Thursday that it has signed a mega-contract worth more than $1.6 billion to provide advanced medium-range surface-to-air missiles (MRSAMs) to the Indian Army. The balance of some $400m. in contracts has been awarded to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Continue Reading »

3 EU countries work with Israel on world’s longest undersea gas pipeline

 

Feasibility studies had been completed but work on developing it would not begin for several years, so the 4 ministers agreed to meet every half-year to advance the new gas pipeline that will boost cooperation & boost supply.

Italy, Israel, Greece and Cyprus pledged Monday to move ahead with the world’s longest undersea gas pipeline from the eastern Mediterranean to southern Europe, with support from the European Union.

Azerbaijan reports acquiring Israel’s Iron Dome missile system

 

Just days after Israel’s PM Netanyahu visited Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev revealed that his country has signed $5 billion worth of contracts to purchase weapons & security equipment from Israel.

Just days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Baku, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Javer Jamalov announced over the weekend that his country has signed a deal to purchase Israel’s Iron Dome aerial defense system.

Jamalov made the announcement on Saturday during a briefing with reporters. According to a report in the Azerbaijan Press Agency, Jamalov said that the “agreement was reached between the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and Israel’s relevant structure”, likely a reference to Israel’s Defense Ministry. Czech Republic replaces old Russian radars with Israeli made radar systems

 

 

The Czech Republic is reportedly buying 8 Israeli manufactured radar systems to detect anything flying between 100 meters to 3 kilometers, such as low flying aircraft attempting to violate Czech airspace.

European fears of possible Russian action have led to huge business deals with Israeli security providers, with the Czech Republic purchasing MMR radars from the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

The radar is the same one used by both the Iron Dome and David’s Sling anti-missile defense systems. It is used to identify and locate incoming rockets but is also able to identify other aerial targets within a 250km radius. Continue Reading »

Azerbaijan is planning to acquire several Iron Dome air defense system batteries, Israel Hayom learned Thursday.

Iron Dome, manufactured by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, is designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells fired from distances of 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) to 70 kilometers (43 miles).
