Massachusetts Gov. Baker plans overseas trade mission to Israel in December

 

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker’s trip to Israel in December, follows his predecessor, Gov. Patrick’s 2011 & 2014 visits to the Jewish State that helped found 200 Israeli-based businesses, that generated $9.3 billion in state revenue for 2015.

Gov. Charlie Baker is planning his first international trade mission as governor, with a trip to Israel in December.

The mission, which will be held Dec. 9 to 14, will include a delegation of about 40 people from private business and a dozen from state government, including Baker. The focus will be on the cybersecurity and digital health industries. Continue Reading »

India successfully conducts latest test of jointly developed Barak 8 missile system

 

Barak 8, vital in any future Israeli conflict with Hezbollah, is a jointly developed Indian-Israeli surface-to-air missile (SAM), designed to defend against any type of airborne threat including anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft such as drones (UAVs) helicopters, and combat jets out to a maximum range of 70 km. has once more been successfully tested by the Indian government on Tuesday.

Israel upgrades relations with Japan as Arab oil influence wanes

 

Japan is no longer reluctant to upset its oil suppliers with the geopolitics changing in the Mid-East as oil prices go down, so strategically, they’re not as important as in the past.

Demand in China for Israeli partnership gains momentum at Beijing conference

 

90 Israeli companies participated at the economic conference in China to “reveal more information & data about Israel,” to further expand the economic cooperation between China and the Jewish State.

Last week, Israel sent a delegation to the two-day investors’ summit in Beijing, which was called “unprecedented’ by the Ministry of Economy and Industry. At the event, 150 corporate leaders from 90 Israeli companies met with investors from all over China.

Israel and Egypt sign letter of intent for natural gas deal

 

Israel’s offshore Leviathan natural gas field to supply Egypt with gas via existing Egyptian underwater pipeline via the Sinai.

Israel’s offshore natural gas field Leviathan will supply gas to Egypt via an existing underwater pipeline to the Sinai peninsula, Leviathan’s partners said in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Wednesday after signing a preliminary deal.

As part of the deal, Leviathan will supply Egypt’s Dolphinus Holdings with up to 4 billion cubic meters of gas a year for 10 to 15 years.

Though Egypt used to be a major regional gas exporter in the region, with Israel being one of its clients, the tables have turned in recent years, owing to several factors – including, in Egypt, instability in the Sinai Peninsula region – where several large fields are located – due to the rise of the Islamist insurgent group Ansar Bait al-Maqdis, and in Israel, the discovery of large off-shore gas fields. Tender issued to construct bridge across Jordan River that would connect new industrial zones on both sides of the river in binational project.

Israel has issued a tender for the construction of a new bridge across the Jordan River which would connect it with its neighbor from the east, the Ministry for Regional Cooperation said Sunday.

The bridge will be part of the “Jordan-gate” project, which will see the establishment of a joint industrial zone between the two countries.
