Int’l Law Experts Agree: Int’l Law Recognizes Jewish Claims Over Judea & Samaria

 

Despite popular, yet dubious claims to the contrary, Israel has international law on its side for legal sovereignty over the areas commonly referred to as the “West Bank”.

Contrary to claims made by Palestinian leadership and others in the international community, international law fully recognizes Jewish claims in Judea and Samaria. These areas were part of the Palestine Mandate, which granted Jews the right to settle anywhere west of the Jordan River and to establish a national home there.

History reminds us that the Palestine Mandate, supported by all 51 members of the League of Nations at the time, and codified in international law, is recognized as legally valid by the United Nations in Article 80 of the UN Charter.

Jordan assigned to ‘inspect Israel’s violations’ at Temple Mount for ICC case

Jordan has been appointed to form an international judicial committee to inspect Israel’s “violations” on the Temple Mount, Jordanian daily Al-Rai reported on Sunday.

Former ICC prosecutor: Israel’s High Court decision could save settlements from war crime status

Where the Israeli High Court of Justice has approved specific settlements as legal, this could provide a complete defense to any allegations that they are war crimes, former International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo told the Jerusalem Post on Thursday.

A Spanish judge has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, along with several other serving and former government officials.

 

Judge Jose de la Mata ordered police and national guard forces to notify him immediately if Netanyahu or several other named Israeli officials entered the country. The ruling surrounds the case of the 2010 Mavi Marmara raid, in which IDF forces were attacked by Islamist extremists as they intercepted a flotilla of ships attempting to breach the IDF’s blockade of Hamas-ruled Gaza. Arab League Threatens Israel with ICC Action Over “Judaization” of Al-Aqsa

 

Arab League FM threatens to take int’l legal actions to prevent Israeli activity on the Temple Mount, including going to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The Arab League on Sunday warned against the “Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel” and called for action against the Jewish state, Channel 2 News reported.

The condemnation came after masked Muslim rioters hurled rocks and fireworks at police on the Temple Mount, as well as firebombs near two entrances to the site.

In a shocking 2-1 decision, the International Criminal Court on Thursday ordered its chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to consider opening a full criminal investigation into war crimes allegations against IDF personnel relating to the 2010 Mavi Marmara flotilla, just seven months after she had closed the file.
