IDF Shoots Dead 2 Hezbollah Terrorists Placing Bomb on Border with Syria

IDF soldiers engaged and then killed two terrorists last night who tried blowing up border fence on Golan Heights.

IDF forces clashed with terrorists on Tuesday night in the northern Golan Heights. Soldiers opened fire on terrorists who placed an explosive on the border fence with Syria.

“Earlier today, two Hezbollah-affiliated terrorists were identified attempting to plant an explosive device near the Israel-Syria border in the northern Golan Heights. IDF forces… fired towards the suspects (and) hits were identified,” the army said in a statement.

A group of suspicious figures approached the fence in the middle of the night, and attempted to blow up the barrier.

IDF intercepts Iranian ship capturing advanced rockets sent to Gaza

IDF elite navy unit raided the Iranian vessel in daring open sea operation, capturing Iranian made long-range missiles that were en route to Sudan.

Israel seized an Iranian ship carrying advanced weapons destined for Gaza on Tuesday night and towed it to Eilat port, the IDF said Wednesday. Elite troops from the Israel Navy’s Shayetet 13 unit boarded the ship in open waters on the maritime border of Sudan and Eritrea, some 1,500 km south of Israel.

Elite IDF unit captures wanted Hamas terrorist in West Bank

An IDF unit working undercover in Hebron arrested Ayoub al-Qawasmi on Tuesday evening, one of the commanders of Hamas’ military branch in the West Bank and one of Israel’s most wanted suspects.

Qawasmi, 50, is suspected of being involved in terrorist attacks against Israelis during the Second Intifada and has recently sought to renew Hamas’ terror infrastructure in the West Bank.

Nabbed: Police Arrested 14 Arab Terrorist Suspects Overnight

Police report charges range from carjacking to throwing Molotov cocktails, as arrests nab Palestinian terrorists across Israeli heartland.

The Judea and Samaria (Shomron) District Police, along with IDF and the Border Patrol, arrested 14 Arabs overnight (Monday/Tuesday) on suspicions of stone-throwing, illegal weapons hoarding, drug-dealing, and carjacking.

A Gaza health official said Saturday that a woman was shot and killed on the border with Israel, the morning after Israel said troops fired on Palestinians suspiciously approaching the boundary.

Syria Fires Rockets at Israel

 

Although 2 Syria rockets land on Israel’s Mt. Hermon, Israeli military suggest incident was a result of stray fire from Syria.

IDF stationed in Israel’s north are on high alert following alleged IAF airstrike on Hezbollah’s missile transfers into Lebanon.

 

Two rockets were found on Mt. Hermon in northern Israel on Saturday morning, hours after explosions were reported in the region during the night.

The IDF estimates the rockets were not launched deliberately at Israel, but were the result of stray fire by one of the warring factions in Syria’s civil war.

Israel successfully tests anti-missile response system for civilian airliners

Elbit’s Sky Shield anti-missile system integrates a thermal camera with laser technology to deflect & protect all types of aircraft against ground-to-air missiles.

 

 

Israel has successfully completed final testing on a system that protects commercial planes from missile attacks, the defense ministry announced on Wednesday.

Testing of the Sky Shield system was “100 percent successful,” according to Brig. Gen. Eitan Eshel, head of research and development at the ministry.

The system integrates laser technology with a thermal camera to protect aircraft against missiles fired from the ground. It deflects missiles fired at aircraft by changing their direction. Continue Reading »

Israel reports: ‘Star Wars’ laser shield named ‘Iron Beam’ will cover entire region

 

An Israeli defense technology company has revealed details of a laser defense system with futuristic ‘Star Wars’ style technology which can disintegrate missiles and other projectiles from the sky with a pulse of energy.

State-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems said the futuristic military hardware called Iron Beam was almost ready for deployment.

It works by firing a focused laser at targets which are heated so rapidly they disintegrate in an instant.

Three Palestinians were wounded Tuesday in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip near the perimeter fence.

Palestinians said a press photographer had a moderate gunshot wound to the leg, while two other people were suffering from tear-gas inhalation. The Israel Defense Forces said hundreds of Palestinians had gathered in the area and threw stones at soldiers. The army responded with crowd-dispersal measures and later gunfire.

Alert IDF soldiers foiled a terror attack on Sunday, when they caught six pipe bombs in the possession of two Palestinian Arabs.

The incident took place next to the Arab village of Huwara in the Shomron (Samaria). The head of the 931 Infantry Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, Guy Shadmi, told Arutz Sheva that soldiers identified two Arabs who were coming from the direction of Shechem and driving suspiciously.

“When they approached Har Bracha, the Palestinians threw a bag with a number of objects out of the car, at which point the soldiers stopped them,” Shadmi said, adding that after the Arabs were arrested and questioned, they admitted to having thrown six pipe bombs from their vehicle.
