2nd Terrorist Shot Dead in a Day, While Trying to Kill Jews

IDF soldiers shoot & kill a knife-wielding Arab terrorist who tried to carry out a terrorist attack near Bethlehem.

Alert IDF soldiers were able to foil a terrorist attack at a checkpoint near Bethlehem on Thursday evening.

A Palestinian Authority Arab terrorist who was armed with a knife arrived at the checkpoint and tried to stab a Border Guard officer who was stationed there.

The terrorist was shot by the soldiers before he could carry out his plan. He was listed in moderate-to-serious condition. IDF soldiers are searching the area to determine whether there are additional terrorists. Continue Reading »

There is growing motivation among women in Israel’s military to join combat units, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday, citing new data.

“We’re seeing growing numbers of women in combat roles compared to last year. There are more women interested in significant service in the IDF as combat soldiers,” said Brig.-Gen. Raheli Tavat-Vizel, who advises the chief of staff on women’s affairs in the military.

IDF Reports Arab from Jenin May Have Been Shot Dead by PA Police

The IDF reported that the Arab resident whom the Palestinian Authority accused the IDF of shooting may very well have been killed by a PA police gunfire.

An Arab resident of a town near Jenin whom the Palestinian Authority accused the IDF of killing may very well have been killed by gunshots fired by PA police. The IDF is investigating the death of the Arab in Qabatiya, south of Jenin late Wedneday, and has found evidence indicating that the Arab was killed by PA gunfire.

Palestinians report large force of IDF soldiers entered village near Jenin overnight to secure arrest of wanted Arab terrorist. Subsequent clashes ensued leaving one young man dead.

A Palestinian man in his 20s was killed during clashes with IDF forces in the West Bank village Qabatiya overnight. Palestinian medical officials said he was shot in the chest and died of his wounds.

According to Palestinian reports, large IDF forces entered Qabatiya late on Wednesday with the purpose of arresting several suspects. Clashes ensued and left Ahmad Tazazaa dead. His body has been transferred to a hospital in Jenin. Continue Reading »

Combat soldiers from the IDF‘s Paratroopers Brigade received an unusual allocation this week and fired a Spike-MR missile during a training exercise held in preparation of the troops’ scheduled operational activity along the northern border.

The Spike-MR rare launch was documented by the IDF and is quite the sight.

Report: Details on lost pilot Ron Arad for intel on missing Iranian diplomats

Al-Siasa newspaper from Kuwait quotes Western intel sources as saying that a possible deal would reveal info on Israel’s Ron Arad in exchange for details on Iranian diplomats who vanished in the 1980s.

 

 

A Kuwaiti newspaper reported on Wednesday that Israel will soon receive new details regarding missing Israel Air Force navigator Ron Arad as part of a deal between Iran and a Western intelligence agency.

Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, Chairman of the Bayit Yehudi faction, expressed satisfaction Thursday with the planned appointment of Col. Rassan Alian to head the Golani Brigade. Alian will be the first Druze to command the brigade.

Israel’s Defense Minister Ya’alon says the Global Jihad tried to pull Israel into a conflict in Lebanon by firing missiles at Israel, hoping Hezbollah would receive Israel’s wrath.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Thursday that a “civil war” has erupted in Lebanon between Hezbollah and Global Jihad elements that have attempted to drag Israel into the conflict.

IDF accidentally broke its policy of non-negotiation with terror groups such as Hamas, in an online incident Tuesday, when IDF Spokesman Major Peter Lerner tweeted the news of a successful hit and was replied by Hamas, leading to back-and-forth tweets.

5th earthquake hits Northern Israel in past week – 3.3 this time

IDF’s Home Front Command releases earthquake guidelines amid recent tremors; latest quake centered northeast of Lake Kinneret.

A 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck in Israel’s North on Tuesday morning, the fifth tremor to hit the area in the last week.

No injuries or damage were reported in the earthquake.

The Geophysical Institute of Israel said that the quake’s epicenter was some five kilometers northeast of Kibbutz Ginosar near Lake Kinneret.

In light of the recent rash of earthquakes to hit the North, the IDF on Monday sent out a statement, calling on citizens to refresh their knowledge of earthquake procedure.

Male Palestinian shot in leg by IDF then evacuated to hospital in stable condition after ignoring warning shots when caught sabotaging border fence with Israel.

IDF forces opened fire on and wounded a Palestinian who was attempting to infiltrate into the village of Meitar in the Negev. The man was found sabotaging the fence in an apparent attempt to enter the community, the IDF said.
