From Queen of Denmark to IDF : Benjamin Schultzer, a 24-year-old Dane who at the age of 21 was recruited to the Danish army, is now serving as an IDF soldier in Hebron. At first he served with the Danish Royal Life Guard, the Danish monarchy’s guard unit, and then, during his army service, he was assigned to the UN force in Lebanon. A Palestinian was killed by the Israel Defense Forces Thursday evening after smashing through the perimeter fence of the A-Ram army base driving a bulldozer.

When soldiers stationed at the entrance to the base, located near the West Bank town of Qalandiyah, spotted the intruder, they began the standard procedure for arresting a suspect. But when the man refused to stop, they opened fire, killing him. Continue Reading »

IDF discovers terrorist tunnel leading from Gaza to kibbutz kindergarten

 

Entrance to 1.7km long Palestinian terrorist tunnel was discovered near a kibbutz kindergarten.

The IDF recently uncovered a Palestinian terrorist tunnel leading from the Gaza Strip to Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha, they announced on Sunday.

The tunnel was dug in order to either kidnap civilians and soldiers, or to infiltrate the community and carry out an atrocity in it, the army believes.

The tunnel was over 1.7 kilometers in length and represents a grave attempt by Palestinian terrorists to perpetrate an attack, army sources added.

Colonel (Res.) Seraiah Ofer was killed in an attack outside his home in the Jordan Valley settlement of Brosh Habika at 10 P.M. Thursday night. His wife Monique was moderately wounded, but managed to escape and contact police.

IDF: Arab Male Wounded After He Jumped Border Fence

The suspected terrorist was shot & wounded by the IDF during an arrest on Tuesday afternoon after trying to jump a border fence.

New reports indicate a suspected terrorist was shot and wounded during an arrest procedure by Israel Defense Force personnel after attempting to cross a border fence.

The army identified the terrorist with a group of Palestinian Arabs attempting to jump the fence near the Oranit checkpoint.

New IDF barrier for Syrian border is missile proof

 


New barrier, designed by the IDF to prevent the infiltration of terrorists from Syria into Israel has proven to also be missile proof.


 

A series of tests recently carried out by the IDF has confirmed that Israel’s new barrier on the border with Syria is missile proof.

The test was carried out by the Golan Brigade, under the command of Col. Arik Hen, to test the the five-meter border barrier’s ability to withstand a direct missile strike, as well as small arms fire.

It came as part of a wider initiative by the army to beef up its defenses along the border with Syria, in light of the ongoing civil war in Syria and the growth of radical jihadi organizations.

IDF troops foiled an apparent terrorist attempt to infiltrate Monday night near the Gaza border fence.

Alert IDF soldiers on Monday night prevented a terror attack at the Gaza border fence. The incident occurred near Kibbutz Nachal Oz, Channel Two reported.

Several Gaza Arabs approached the border fence, the report said. IDF soldiers patrolling in the area identified suspicious figures near the fence, and ordered them to halt. For the 1st time on a Simchat Torah holiday in an IDF synagogue, a Female soldier was called to recite blessings over Torah portion.

A religiously observant female soldier was called to the Torah last week during Simchat Torah services, setting a precedent for the IDF. The soldier received what is known as an aliyah to the Torah, during which she recited a blessing over a Torah portion — a custom that is typically reserved for men in mainstream Orthodox synagogues. The incident sparked a firestorm on a base where many Orthodox soldiers were serving.

IDF officials accuse PA of ‘incompetence’ after 2 Israeli soldiers murdered

IDF soldiers on Friday opened fire on a group of Palestinians who breached the security zone approaching Gaza’s border with Israel, damaging the fence and throwing stones at troops.

The IDF stated that two Palestinians were injured in the incident. According to Palestinian sources the men were moderately wounded.

The incident came after a rocket was fired from Gaza into southern Israel early on Thursday morning, landing in the Ashkelon Coast Council area.
