Israeli soldiers have arrested three Palestinian Authority police officers-turned-terrorists, who shot to death a young Jewish father as he returned from praying at the tomb of the Biblical Patriarch Joseph in Samaria (Shomron).

Arab media outlets reported the arrests in May, but the news was only officially confirmed by Israeli sources Wednesday after the removal of a gag order.

Those arrested were identified as Nawaf Fahd Bani Ouda, 24, Wael Hassin Mahmoud Daoud, 24, and Tarki Diyad Tarki Zuara’a, 23. Continue Reading »

Israeli ministers consider legislating housing & job preferences for ex-IDF soldiers

New affirmative action legislation, proposed by coalition chairman Yariv Levin, would also include Israelis who’ve completed national service.

This comes in response to early start in job market already enjoyed by those who skipped  the army or national service.

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet will decide on Sunday whether to endorse proposed legislation that advocates affirmative action for Israelis who have done military or national service.

Women’s groups and political organizations have been pressuring the IDF to place more women in more combat units throughout the IDF.

Political organizations and women’s groups are putting pressure on the IDF to press on with the integration of women in the army’s combat units.

Elinor JosephThe organizations are joined by senior reserve officers who are offering a wide strategic plan for embedding women in all levels of the combat array.

One of the senior officers is the head of the Institute for National Security Studies, Major General (res.) Yet Another Video of Naked IDF Soldiers Goes Viral

 

After 1st set of naked photos of IDF girls gain global glory as the ‘Gaza Strip,’ now a new video of female soldiers dancing ‘half-naked’ goes public.

One week after the naked IDF soldiers’ photos scandal, which reached headlines in tabloids worldwide, a video distributed through social media is threatening to one-up the last high jinks.

IDF girls“Dance like whores on a pole,” one of the soldiers is heard saying at the beginning of the clip. Contrary to the previous photographs, the identity of the participants in the video is unknown, as is the date it was shot.

If hareidi-religious Jews are forced to enlist in the IDF, many Jews will no longer see Israel as their home, MK Meir Porush (Yahadut Hatorah) has warned.

Porush met recently with French Ambassador to Israel Cristophe Bigot. During the meeting, Bigot asked Porush what the hareidi-religious community in Israel thinks of the government’s plan to require more hareidi men to enlist in the army.

Foreign Ministry strikes against Defense Ministry – Where’s Bibi?

Sanctions of the Foreign Ministry strike include a refusal to issue diplomatic passports to ministers, cessation of cable communications between Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem & delegations around the world and a halt to arrangements for ministerial visits abroad.

 

 

Defense Ministry Director General Udi Shani sent an urgent letter Wednesday to Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he requested that he intercede to end the strike within the Foreign Ministry as soon as possible, in order to save Israel from possible harm to its security and diplomatic ties.

According to assessments, hundreds of dunams have gone up in flames, some of which have come near the IDF’s Golan positions. An Israeli firefighter squad is currently at the scene attempting to take control of the fire and the IDF has instructed local farmers to stay away from their lands near the border for the time being. A tank diverged from its route and rolled over on Tuesday during an IDF training exercise in the southern base of Zeelim. One soldier was lightly injured and taken to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.

Three other soldiers who were manning the tank were not injured, but were taken for medical examinations nonetheless.

Military Police announced Tuesday the launching of an investigation into an incident in which IDF soldiers and Border Guard officers allegedly beat a Palestinian man during his arrest.

IDF Etzion Sector Commander Colonel Yaniv Alaluf held a meeting with residents of the settlement of Efrat, saying that a new road is to be built in Gush Etzion in an attempt to protect drivers from incidents of stone hurling.
