The US State Dept. spokesman John Kirby, says Israeli Transparency Law requiring NGO’s to report its foreign funding, and the US Foreign Agents Registration Act are ‘two different things’ – but can’t explain how.

US State Department spokesman John Kirby rejected out of hand Wednesday a comparison between an Israeli bill requiring foreign-funded NGOs to declare their sources and US laws mandating the registration of foreign interest lobbyists.

In an op-ed published by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on Monday, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked drew parallels between her Government Transparency Law and the US Foreign Agents Registration Act dating back to 1938.

Israel’s air defense system David’s Sling has passed its final round of tests, putting it on course for deployment in 2016, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.

David’s Sling is designed to shoot down rockets with ranges of 100 to 200 km (63 to 125 miles), aircraft, or low-flying cruise missiles. Over the weekend, the IDF’s intelligence branch sent a letters to all officers and soldiers, warning them against foreign attempts to enlist spies from among the IDF’s ranks.

Channel 2 reports that the message, entitled “enlistment of ex-special forces soldiers to an organization,” included a clipping from daily newspaperYediot Aharonot which told the story of a 2012 attempt by the CIA to turn Israeli soldiers into spies for the US.

Israel Air Force engineers are working to double the range and capabilities of the US made stealth jets, as the first planes made specifically for Israel are due to arrive in December 2016.

Israel is actively working to double the range of its F-35 defense fighters, officials said Thursday, in an announcement made just before the Senate Congress vote on the Iran deal.

Israel’s F-35s are tailor-made by Lockheed Martin, and named Adir (lit. “awesome.”). The first two Adirs are due to be delivered to the Israeli Air Force (IAF) in December 2016.
