Jerusalem District Court has ruled against gender segregation at funerals

The Jerusalem District Court has ruled that unless deceased’s family specifically requests segregation, Chevra Kadisha burial society can no longer place signs separating between men & women at cemeteries.

The Chevra Kadisha burial society will not be able to place signs separating between men and women in cemeteries, unless the deceased’s family specifically asks for it, the Jerusalem District Court has ruled.

The outline suggested by the court has been accepted by both Chevra Kadisha and groups opposing gender segregation. The parties are now waiting for Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to confirm that the proposal does not fall under the category of forbidden exclusion of women in the public domain. A suspect is being held for questioning, while police are searching for additional suspects.

A 45-year-old Jewish man arrived at a police station in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday evening with stab wounds to his abdomen. The man, who was moderately wounded, said he had been stabbed by Arabs.

Sister of ‘Synagogue Butcher’ is Employee at Jerusalem’s City Hall

Two cousins were responsible for the deadliest terror attack in Jerusalem in six years. It was revealed Thursday that the sister of one of the terrorists was an employee at Jerusalem’s city hall.

The sister took several days off work following the horrific attack. Jerusalem municipality issued a statement on the employee. “She is an outstanding social worker who deals with disadvantaged populations. UN Security Council strongly condemns ‘despicable terrorist attack’ at Jerusalem synagogue

The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned yesterday’s “despicable terrorist attack” in a synagogue in Jerusalem, resulting in the murder of four innocent civilians worshiping there and a police officer, as well as the injury of many more.

The European Union’s new foreign affairs chief, Federica Mogherini, visited the region over the weekend and insisted on the urgent need for a Palestinian state with the eastern half of Jerusalem as its capital.

A three-year-old baby boy was among several Israelis injured Saturday evening in a string of rock attacks by Arabs. The baby was taken to hospital with “light” wounds when the car he was traveling in was targeted by rock-throwing Palestinians close to Shiloh Junction in southern Samaria’s Binyamin region.

Magen David Adom medics provided first aid treatment to the infant, who suffered from a head wound, before evacuating him to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem.
