Buses to run in Jerusalem on Shabbat

The “Shabus” bus line will begin operating with 3 mini-buses from an east Jerusalem transportation company from 8 pm Friday night to 2 am on Saturdays.

 

The Cooperative Transportation Association of Jerusalem will begin operating its new “Shabus” program next weekend, introducing buses that will run between Jerusalem neighborhoods and the city’s nightlife destinations on Friday night.

Israel’s Jewish Youths to Promote More Arabic in Jerusalem

In effort to counter recent spat of hate crimes, 150 Jewish high school students in Jerusalem will be riding the Light Rail while speaking only in Arabic.

Next week a group of 150 Jewish high school students will ride Jerusalem’s light rail while conversing only in Arabic. It is a noble initiative that has been poorly presented by some organizers and journalists giving the impression of overbearing racism in the Jewish state.

Stone Throwing Ultra-Orthodox Jews Attack IDF Officer in Jerusalem

An IDF officer visiting 2 soldiers under his command, was assaulted by dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea She’arim, causing extensive damage to his car.

An IDF officer was attacked by dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews in the neighborhood of Meah She’arim in Jerusalem on Friday. The assailants – both adults and children – threw stones and eggs at him, caused damage to his car and yelled: “Hardak (frivolous haredi), we will kill you”.

The officer, a resident of Kiryat Arba who serves in the Givati infantry brigade, had arrived at the neighborhood in Jerusalem to pay a visit to two of his soldiers – one of them a lone soldier whose grandfather had recently passed away.

PLO Executive Committee member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi accused Israel of war crimes after the Jerusalem Municipality issued a construction permit for 143 apartment units in the Jewish neighborhood of Har Homa located over the pre-1967 lines on Monday.

Jerusalem to open Gazelle Valley, 60 acre urban nature park in city next week

A new urban nature park, the first of its kind, like a ‘Central Park’, but with ‘wild animals’, will open in the middle of Jerusalem this coming Monday.

After two decades of persistent public battle, the Jerusalem Municipality will be dedicating and opening this week an urban nature park, replete with gazelles, ponds, bicycle paths and more, smack in the middle of the city.

The park, named Gazelle Valley, stretches over 60 acres (250 dunams), and is located between the busy Begin Highway, the Katamon neighborhood, and Givat Mordechai. Israel demolishes illegal EU structures also built in violation of Oslo Accords

EU condemns demolition of prefab buildings illegally erected on outskirts of Arab neighborhood of Issawiya, inhabited by Bedouin communities on state land.

Israeli authorities on Tuesday demolished an EU-funded shelter in Arab east Jerusalem, the European Union said, denouncing the move.

The blue EU logo seen on new modular structures in an illegal Bedouin encampment in the Judean hills outside the Ma’alen Adumim settlement.

“We condemn today’s demolition of temporary shelters funded by the European Union… as part of its response to the needs of the affected communities,” an EU statement said.

While Arab assailants have long been desecrating the Mount of Olives Jewish cemetery in Jerusalem, said to be the oldest still-in-use cemetery in the world, shocking video footage reveals that for the Jewish holiday of Purim last Friday (in Jerusalem) they went farther than usual in trashing Jewish graves.

Jerusalem Councilman Arieh King on Tuesday posted video documenting the damage, which was filmed by Joshua Wander, a dual Israeli and American citizen who has run as a republican candidate for mayor of Pittsburgh.

Arab Terrorist Rams Car Into Jerusalem Pedestrians

Israel Police reports that the terrorist was shot after he drove up on the sidewalk and ran over five people close to the Border Police base in Jerusalem.

ZAKA reported Friday morning that a rampage terror attack occurred a short time ago near the Border Patrol’s base in the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood in Jerusalem.

A police statement clarified that the Arab terrorist attack was conducted in a private car that approached the base from Zaks Junction before going up on the sidewalk and running over five people, of whom four were from the security forces.

Rabbi Claims Only Jewish Prayers Kept King David’s Tomb From Becoming Church

Rabbis urge for all Jews that visit & pray at the Western Wall to also visit the nearby Tomb of David, to keep it from falling into Vatican hands.

King David’s Tomb on Mount Zion was the focus of major controversy last summer when it was reported that, under pressure from the Vatican, Israel was preparing to hand over or sell control of the holy site to the Catholic Church.

The site is also holy to Christians, as the second floor of the compound is home to a more modern representation of the “Upper Room.”
