Published in U.S.: Buried Secret Israeli Report on Temple Mount Irregularities

News Report published by American Jewish media on Israeli authorities’ negligence regarding supervision of Muslim digs at Temple Mount, was buried by the Israeli gov’t in 2007.

 

 

The American news website The Jewish Voice has published a translation of an Israeli State Comptroller’s report on Israeli authorities’ conduct regarding digs at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount in 2007. In Israel, a gag order was placed on the report due to fears it would harm Israel’s foreign relations and spark violent confrontations at the Temple Mount. 2 Jerusalem Arabs Run Over Cop in Latest ‘Trickling of Terror’

In latest of series of Palestinian terror attacks, 2 Jerusalem Arabs were arrested after car chase for running over a police officer.

The policeman, was evacuated to nearby Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital.

In the latest attack in what MK Yoni Chetboun (Jewish Home) has termed “trickling terror,” two Arab residents of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya ran over a police officer who stopped them following a car chase Tuesday night.

The driver had ignored police orders to stop while driving near Issawiya. In the ensuing car chase a police car managed to stop the car at the southern entrance to the neighborhood. Continue Reading »

Christians, Jews & Muslims rally in Jerusalem against price tag attacks

Grassroots interfaith group calls price tags attacks “cancer,” urges government to classify their vandalism attacks as acts of terrorism.

 

 

 

Price tag attacks must be classified as acts of terrorism, said a small group of Israeli Jews and Arabs as they jointly rallied Sunday morning in front of the Prime Minister’s Office during the weekly cabinet meeting in hopes of swaying the government to clamp down on such incidents.

Dozens of African asylum seekers who walked out of the southern detention facility marched to the country’s capital to hold a demonstration outside Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Office.

Dozens of African asylum seekers who left the Holot open detention facility in southern Israel two days ago, arrived in Jerusalem on Tuesday morning for a protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office.

IDF Military Academy Plans for Mount Scopus Delayed by PM Netanyahu

IDF military academy plans approved in 2012, but Netanyahu delays program – probably due to fears of an unpleasant US reaction.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has delayed plans to move the IDF’s military training academy to Mount Scopus, probably due to international pressures, Maariv reported Tuesday. Sources say the IDF has begun looking for other sites for its military program as a result.

The District Planning and Building Committee of Jerusalem has prevented the program from advancing for over a year, despite its importance. The move is part of a greater initiative to strengthen Jerusalem’s position as the symbolic and practical capital of Israel. Continue Reading »

Knesset Committee okay bill mandating 2/3 majority for dividing Jerusalem

 

The proposal, by MK Ya’acov Litzman (UTJ), was accepted by the committee after being brought back to a vote because Justice Minister Tzipi Livni appealed its introduction last October.

 

 

A bill requiring a two-thirds majority in the Knesset for negotiations to divide Jerusalem was approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation Sunday.

While children are out on the streets playing in the snow, others are surveying the damage caused by downed tree branches, downed power lines and other issues caused by the rare snow storm which has affected most of the county. Snow has hit Jerusalem, shutting down streets and cancelling buses. Snow has also hit northern Tzfat, Ariel, Gush Etzion, and other areas.

Mayor Barkat enlists the IDF & Israel Police to assist the many drivers & cars that have been caught stranded due to the ice & snow.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has enlisted the IDF and the Israel Police to help out the many drivers who have been stranded on the city’s roads because of the snow.

On Thursday night, after the snowstorm which hit the capital caused many road closures and traffic jams, Barkat contacted IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and the head of the Jerusalem District of the Israel Police, Yossi Pariente, and asked them to help clear the roads of stranded cars and people. PA Police Reported to be Arresting Israelis in Jerusalem

Palestinian Authority is creating ‘facts on the ground’ in Jerusalem, apparently with government approval.

Palestinian Authority police officers are arresting Israeli residents in Jerusalem, with Israel’s approval, Walla! news reports.

PA police began a crackdown in the Jerusalem area on Thursday and have reportedly arrested several people, including Arab residents of Jerusalem who hold Israeli ID cards. Arrests have been carried out within the Jerusalem city limits.

Both Israeli and PA sources confirmed the existence of the PA arrest campaign, according to the report.

2 Charities in Jerusalem – Fronts for Hamas – Closed By Security Forces

Shin Bet security service report that their  offices served as Islamist movement’s base of operations in Israel’s capital.

Israeli security forces on Thursday closed two offices in East Jerusalem they say served as a base for Hamas operations in the city.

The Shin Bet security service said the offices belonged to Al-Quds Development and Amara al-Aqsa (Al-Aqsa Properties), charities based in the northern Israeli cities of Umm al-Fahm and Nazareth.

The Shin Bet said in a statement that agents and the Israel Police had closed “two Jerusalem offices, from which the Hamas terror organization had been conducting actions.” Continue Reading »

Clerics unite to stop attacks at religious sites in Jerusalem

 

Lately there’s been an increase in vandalism & politically motivated attacks on places holy to  Christians, Muslims & Jews.

Clerics & others involved in religious dialogue in Israel want to cooperate to try to stop all attacks on holy places.

In less than one square mile in Jerusalem’s old city are holy places central to the world’s three monotheistic religions. The Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site, is just below the Aksa Mosque, venerated in Islam. Nearby is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Christians believe Jesus was buried.

Arabs furious at Czech President’s Jerusalem remark

 

Egypt summoned Czech ambassador after their president discussed moving embassy to Israel’s capital.

The Cairo-based Arab League has condemned remarks by the Czech president about moving his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, calling them a violation of Palestinian rights and international resolutions.

In its Wednesday’s statement, the 22-nation organization called for summoning the Czech ambassador in Cairo to express “dangers of these remarks.”
