UPDATED: Liquor Board of Ontario boycotts Judea and Samaria wines

 

Canadian retailers are told by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, not to import Psagot, Shilo wineries’ spirits, or any wine made from grapes grown, processed and blended in Judea and Samaria that are labeled as “Made in Israel” as it “misleads” consumers.

A major Canadian agency announced Thursday that it would no longer allow retailers to import wine made in Israeli settlement in Judea and Samaria.

According to the Jewish Press, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario cited the position of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency stating that wine made from grapes grown, fermented, processed and blended in Judea and Samaria may no longer be labeled as “Made in Israel,” over concerns it “misleads” consumers. Pro-Israel advocacy group wins court case against BDS at University of Ontario

 

#BDSfail: Invoking a passed BDS motion, Ontario university’s student association banned a pro-Israel North American advocacy organization from participating in an event last year. The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal found the student association guilty of discrimination.

A pro-Israel North American advocacy organization announced on Thursday that it had won a legal victory after an Ontario university’s student association banned it from participating in an event last year, due to its connection with Israel.

REPORT: Syrian ceasefire blocks Hezbollah, Iranian proxies from Israeli border

Foreign Policy magazine reports US-Russian brokered ceasefire contains clauses to allay Israeli and Jordanian concerns of Hezbollah troops and other Iranian sponsored rebel groups from approaching their joint northern border.

The recent ceasefire agreement for southwestern Syria signed by the US and Russia which came into effect on Sunday also forbids foreign militias supported by Iran from operating in strategic areas in Syria adjacent to the Israeli border with Jordan, according to a report in the Foreign Policy magazine.

The agreement addresses, the report claims, Israeli and Jordanian demands that the Hezbollah terrorist organization and Iranian proxies and pro-Iranian militias be forbidden from approaching the border on the Golan Heights. Continue Reading »

UAE minister accuses Al Jazeera of anti-Semitism, inciting hate

In response to UN accusations that the Gulf states are attacking Qatar’s freedom of expression by demanding Al Jazeera’s closure, UAE foreign minister asserts the network incites hatred by broadcasting sermons by anti-Semitic cleric who “praised Hitler” and called on Allah to “kill them, down to the very last one.”

Trump Envoy Catapults Israeli-Palestinian Water Deal Previously Stalled for Years

Signed by Jordan in 2015, President Trump’s US envoy Jason Greenblatt hailed the Palestinian signing of the historic water/power agreement by saying this deal “will lead to economic improvement in the lives of the Palestinians.”

US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt announced Thursday that Israel and the Palestinians have reached an agreement concerning the long-discussed Red Sea-Dead Sea Canal, which includes the sale of 33 million cubic meters of water to the Palestinian Authority to relieve the water situation there.

Greenblatt, at a press conference with Regional Cooperation Minister Tzahi Hanegbi and PA Water Authority head Mazen Ghuneim, said this agreement and the accord signed Monday between Israel and the PA that will significantly increase the power supply to Jenin are examples of how the two sides can cooperate to improve Palestinian living conditions. IDF introduces new protective method for disarming terrorists without injury

 

The IDF has created a fail-safe system enabling it to curtail injury to a single soldier, Palestinian civilian or even a would-be knife-carrying terrorist.

The city of Hebron has seen an increase in the number of attempted stabbing attacks than the height of the wave of terror last year. However, in all of the attempts, the IDF and Border Police have succeeded in neutralizing the armed Palestinians with the incidents ending without injury to either the soldiers or the would-be terrorists.

Jerusalem denies Arabic report that ‘Israel committed to limiting WB construction’

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office categorically denies a London-based Arabic newspaper report that U.S. Mid. East Envoy Jason Greenblatt informed Palestinian delegation of an Israeli pledge to curb construction during ongoing peace talks.

US President Donald Trump’s special advisor and Middle East Envoy Jason Greenblatt told a Palestinian delegation in Jerusalem Tuesday that Israel had committed to slowing down the pace of construction in the West Bank during peace negotiations, according to a report published in the London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat.

Israel’s Embassy in Cairo thanks Egypt for restoring ancient synagogue

 

Israel’s Army Radio reported on Tuesday that Israel thanked the Egyptian government in a statement from its Egyptian Embassy, for its decision to renovate the 160 yr-old synagogue in Alexandria.

Israel has thanked the Egyptian government for its decision to renovate the ancient synagogue in Alexandria, Army Radio reported on Tuesday.

According to the radio station, the Israeli embassy in Cairo issued a statement saying that Israel appreciates the decision, which is an expression of interest in minorities.

In a show of Israeli-Palestinian cooperation, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz and Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Monday signed a deal under which Israel will increase the power supply to Palestinian cities in Judea and Samaria, especially in the greater Jenin area.
