Ramifications to yesterday’s UNSC resolution: Legal boycotts, sanctions & ICC lawsuits

view videoAlthough the anti-Israel resolution adopted by the UN Security Council has no immediate practical ramifications, it could pave the way for lawsuits against Israel at the ICC, the EU and others could initiate sanctions against any Israeli company or institution seen as violating resolution, and of course this resolution legitimizes boycotts on all settlement products, services, and organizations.

The UN Security Council’s Resolution 2334, which was adopted on Friday, may not have immediate practical ramifications, but it could open the door to lawsuits against Israel at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and for sanctions to be imposed on Israel—both by the UN and by individual countries. In following America’s lead, Britain’s new definition of antisemitism looks like the UK is returning to its overtly pro-Israel policies of years long gone.

By Tsvi Sadan

The love-hate relationship between the UK and Israel is well known.

These are sufficient examples of British hate toward the Israel.

But Britain has another side, the one that has produced the 1917 Balfour Declaration that proved foundational to the rebirth of the Jewish state. Continue Reading »
