The reports coming out of the last round of talks between the P5+1 and Iran, held in Kazakhstan, were surprisingly positive. The Washington Post headlined its Feb. 27 report on the subject, “Iran nuclear talks end on upbeat note.” Saeed Jalili, the head Iranian negotiator, told reporters that the two sides might be getting to a “turning point” in the talks between them.

Bulgaria won’t seek EU terror classification for Hezbollah

Bulgaria’s new PM Raikov reports that despite proof implicating Hezbollah in Burgas bombing, Sofia won’t push EU to recognize group as terrorist; move likely as concession to opposition groups who, like many of their EU partners, are scared & intimidated by Hezbollah.

SOFIA – Bulgaria’s new interim prime minister said on Saturday he would not initiate any move to impose EU sanctions on the Islamist group Hezbollah, even though the country had implicated the Islamist movement in a bombing at a Black Sea resort.

Syrian Regime Threatens to Strike at Rebels Inside Lebanon

Lawyer accuses Hamas of murdering 16 Egyptian soldiers

An Egyptian lawyer has accused the Hamas government in Gaza of masterminding the murder of 16 Egyptian border guards last August.

On Thursday, Samir Sabry filed a complaint with the prosecutor general, claiming Hamas had ordered the deadly attack on a guard post in Sinai on 5 August.

IDF Military Intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi on Thursday presented a grim picture of Israel’s strategic surroundings, saying that four of the Middle East’s superpowers — Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt — were all led by religious leadership whose fundamental view of Israel is one of a “foreign, unwelcome element” and who increasingly see the world through religious lenses.

Hamas Terrorist Near Hevron Killed by IDF Troops

A Palestinian Authority Arab terrorist was shot and killed by IDF soldiers, during a clash that broke out on Tuesday evening between soldiers and Arabs in Al-Fawwar, near Hevron.

Two other Arabs were wounded in the incident. The Palestinian Red Cross evacuated them to hospital and their condition is not clear.

An initial investigation of the incident, conducted by the IDF’s Judea Brigade, found that it began when Arabs started throwing firebombs and rocks at Israeli cars traveling on Highway 60, the main road in the area. Continue Reading »

PA arrests Palestinian over participating in Al Jazeera course

Journalist is facing incarceration by Palestinian Authority security forces for visiting Qatar to participate in Al-Jazeera training program.

A Palestinian journalist from the West Bank complained Tuesday that Palestinian Authority security forces have been harassing him ever since he visited Qatar.

The journalist, Tarek al-Sarkaji, said that if visiting Qatar were a crime in the eyes of the PA security forces, then they should also arrest PA President Mahmoud Abbas for visiting the Gulf country.

Al-Sarkaji, who lives in Nablus and also works as a TV producer, said his problems began when he return to the West Bank after attending a training course for the Doha-based Al-Jazeera TV station.

At EU, Peres asks them to recognize Hezbollah as terror organization

In speech to the European Parliament Tuesday morning, Shimon Peres warns that time is running out to curtail Iran’s nuclear ambitions and went on stressing the need of ensuring Syrian biological weapons don’t fall into the hands of terrorist groups.

 

President Shimon Peres called on the European Union to list Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, in an address to the European Parliament in Strasburg on Tuesday.

Hamas Seeking Removal from US & EU List of Terrorist Organizations

Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorist group said on Monday that the group’s removal from the U.S. and European countries’ lists of terrorism organizations “has become a matter of time.”

Gaza childrenAhmed Youssef, one of Hamas’s leaders, told the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency, “There are contacts [being] made by the movement, with the help of Arab and Islamic countries such as Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, to convince major and European countries to take Hamas’s name out of the terrorism list.”

Security forces in Germany and Turkey apprehended smugglers who are suspected of moving nuclear materials purchased in India and Germany to a nuclear facility in the Iranian city of Arak, Turkish newspaper Haberturk reported.
