Israel trains India’s future leaders to make country next “Start Up Nation”

A Spanish music festival has cancelled a performance by Jewish reggae star Matisyahu – because he refused to produce a statement clearly endorsing “Palestinian statehood,” according to Spanish media outlets.

Matisyahu – who shot to fame as a bearded “hassidic raggae” star, before leaving Orthodox Judaism in 2011 – was due to appear at the Rototom Sunsplash festival in Benicassim, north of Valencia. Arab Bank settles in terror case after series of defeats in other US terror lawsuits

Settlement comes after U.S. jury ruled the Arab Bank guilty after transferring $70 million to Saudi terror entity and must compensate families of victims of multiple Palestinian terror attacks.

Arab Bank has reached a settlement with hundreds of US victims of attacks in Israel and the Palestinian territories who filed a lawsuit accusing the bank of supporting terrorism.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed to AFP that an agreement had been reached, but provided no details of the settlement. The amount of the settlement was not immediately revealed.

NEW YORK – The Obama administration urged a US judge to “carefully consider” the Palestinian Authority’s financial condition in determining the size of any bond it must post to appeal a jury’s finding that it supported terrorist attacks in Israel.

Canada’s National Defense Ministry Buys Iron Dome System

Canada’s defense ministry purchases first ‘Medium Range Radar’ version of Israel’s Iron Dome for Cad$187.2 million.

Canada said Wednesday it will buy missile defense radars modeled after Israel’s Iron Dome from German defense contractor Rheinmetall.

The defense ministry put the cost of the 10 medium range radar systems at Cad$243.3 million ($187.2 million), according to AFP.

Canada’s National Defense Minister Jason Kenney hailed the deal, saying the technology had proved useful for Israel.

“Much like Israel’s successful Iron Dome radar technology, the Medium Range Radar system will be able to instantly track enemy fire aimed at Canadian armed forces personnel and help keep them safe during operations,” Kenney said. Continue Reading »

Cllr Brendan Young (Independent) of Kildare County Council proposed a motion Monday 27th July to urge the Irish Army & Dep of Defense to stop importing military equipment from Israel. Kildare is home to Ireland’s largest military base.

Israel Interior Minister Plans to Bring 7,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel

Israel’s Interior Minister: The 7000 family members of 500 Ethiopian-Israeli IDF soldiers who are still waiting to come to Israel, will be brought ‘home’.

Families of some 500 Ethiopian Israeli IDF soldiers will be brought to Israel, announced Interior Minister Silvan Shalom at a joint meeting between the Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Committee and the Interior Committee at the Knesset on Monday.

In addition to immediately working to bring the 500 families of the soldiers, Shalom also announced his intent to bring the rest of the Jewish Ethiopian community to Israel, numbering some 7,000 people.

Israel’s Channel 2 recently dedicated a full 15 minutes to the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Reporter Danny Kushmaro brought to an Israeli audience awareness of “the Jews that stand behind the boycott of Israel.” For me, a longtime “student” of JVP, as well as many Americans, there would be little surprise to hear the venomous rhetoric disgorged by JVP activists. BBC Criticised For Unbalanced Defamatory Report on Jerusalem’s Light Rail

WATCH: BBC’s deficient 30-minute documentary biasedly narrated by ‘bewildered Jew’ is contentiously titled “The Train that Divides Jerusalem.”

LONDON – A BBC documentary examining the role of Jerusalem’s light railway in redefining the capital’s demography has come in for strong criticism after it depicted a city in which Israelis have used the tram line to strengthen their grip over the Palestinians.

The 30-minute documentary in the BBC’s flagship Panorama series, contentiously titled “The Train that Divides Jerusalem,” was described by the publicly financed corporation as being aired on the anniversary of “last summer’s brutal conflict in Gaza” in which a “filmmaker, Adam Wishart” visited Jerusalem to ride on the city’s so-called ‘controversial train.’

Female Israeli veteran arrested entering Thailand with bullets in backpack

Just 5 days after being released from the IDF, a young woman going on vacation with her family gets arrested because she forgot to remove M-16 bullets from her backpack.

An Israeli in her 20s on her way to Thailand on vacation was arrested on Wednesday at the Bangkok Airport after security found 13 bullets for an M-16 rifle in her bag, forgotten there after she was released from the IDF only five days prior.
