EU thinks ‘throwing Israel to the crocs means Europe will be eaten last’

 

The fourth German-Israel Congress held in Frankfurt sent a strong message to the EU bureaucrats.

More than 3,000 supporters of Israel attended a pro-Israel event in Frankfurt on Sunday, sending a message to European foreign ministers who were expected to endorse a French diplomatic initiative opposed by Israel in Brussels the next day.

Israel Navy engineers made the next Sa’ar 6 missile ship stealthy

 

Since the newest Sa’ar 6 missile corvettes will have to deal with Hezbollah’s radar-guided shore-to-sea missiles, engineers redesigned it with a low radar signature.

When German engineers from ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, who are building Israel’s next-generation Sa’ar-6 class missile corvette, showed Israel Navy engineers the first blueprints for the strategically vital vessel, the Israelis realized there was a problem.

The plans outlined a ship based on Germany’s own sea platforms, and was similar in design. Yet Israel must deal with a far more challenging environment, in which Hezbollah is stockpiling radar-guided shore-to-sea missiles that can target the navy, offshore gas drilling rigs in the Mediterranean and strategically vital sites, such as civilian sea ports – just the type of threat the Sa’ar-6 will be designed to counter. Report: German official says Berlin to rethink policy of blind-support for Israel

 

According to ‘Der Spiegel’, coalition member reveals how Berlin has grown frustrated with Israel’s PM, who is perceived as opposed to a 2-state solution.

Germany is beginning to re-examine its longstanding policy of near-automatic support for Israel in light of what it perceives as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s disinclination to move toward a two-state solution to the Palestine question.

According to a report in the prestigious magazine Der Spiegel, diplomatic officials in Berlin are taking a hard look at a decades-long policy of “unconditional support” for Israel in light of continued settlement expansion in the West Bank.

Mossad agents stuck in mud, burnt in Germany in possession of handguns

 

Police & firefighters show up to extricate 2 Mossad agents who were stuck in mud in northern Germany and find their guns in the car.

Two Mossad agents were reportedly exposed when their car became stuck in the mud in a northern German town.

The pair were in Germany to accompany the recently-completed INS Rahav submarine from the Kiel shipyard to Haifa last December. Ynet quotes Hamburg television station NDR as saying that trouble started when they came across a locked fence that was labeled “no entry” in the town of Quarnbek.

The agents picked the lock and drove through the gate, but quickly became stuck in mud and were unable to free their Ford Focus. Continue Reading »

Israel receives latest German-made submarine, with ‘2nd-strike (nuclear) capabilities’

Germany’s fifth Dolphin-class submarine arrived in Israel’s Haifa port Tuesday, where top government and military officials welcomed the newest addition to Israel’s navy.

The INS Rahav, which cost the Israel Navy two billion dollars, was first unveiled in a ceremony in April 2013 in Kiel, Germany. After the unveiling, the submarine underwent a year and a half of work to make it operational. Continue Reading »

Outlawed in France as anti-Semitic, and reported in the Spanish press as a violent organization’ after Matisyahu’s concert ban & then reinvitation, the BDS city-sponsored lecture will take place on the eve of the Nazis’ ‘Kristallnacht’, in Munich, of all places.

Israeli navy engineers in Germany suggesting improvement with warship capabilities

German magazine, Der Spiegel fabricates untrue diplomatic crisis with Israel

 

Israel’s embassy in Berlin and the Foreign Ministry vehemently denied a German Der Spiegel article alleging that Israel’s air traffic authority denied German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s plane permission to fly through its airspace during a trip to the Middle East in May because he snubbed a visit to Israel.

Israel’s President inspects new IDF submarine during visit to Germany

President Rivlin visits German shipyard in Kiel, where Israeli commandos are presently training to operate new INS Rahav, which is expected to arrive in Haifa during the upcoming year.

President Reuven Rivlin visited the Kiel shipyards in Germany on Wednesday, receiving a private tour aboard the INS Rahav – the fifth submarine expected to arrive in Israel.

“You are our fortified wall on our maritime borders, and nowhere is too far for you when it comes to Israel’s safety,” the president told the submarine commandos.

Germany to build 4 corvette class warships for Israel’s Navy to defend gas rigs

In a major deal with Berlin, announced a day before Israel & Germany mark 50 years of diplomatic relations, they will provide the IDF with 4 vessels to protect Israel’s offshore gas rigs.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen signed a contract Monday under which Israel will purchase four ships from Germany to protect its offshore gas rigs. The total cost of the vessels is estimated at about NIS 1.8 billion.
