VIDEO: New Israeli System Neutralizes IED, Roadside Bomb Threat

 

Since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, over 2,000 American troops have lost their lives to improvised explosive devices. This new system locates, identifies, and can destroy them before they injure, or worse.

After three years of development, Israel Aerospace Industries has begun testing its Counter Improvised Explosive Device and Mine Suite mobile system.

The system can identify, locate and destroy improvised explosive devices and mines before troops even reach them.

According to project manager Reuven Y., the system, which is not yet operational, “is a new concept that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. It is a breakthrough technology against IEDs.” Continue Reading »

A first for the UN body to award Israel’s Agricultural Research Organization Volcani Center the life sciences award.
• Volcani Center director said, This is a ‘great achievement for the state and underscores our contribution not just to science but to international cooperation for ensuring food security for future generations.’

The Agricultural Research Organization Volcani Center, a government-run institute in central Israel known for its groundbreaking discoveries, is among the three winners of the UNESCO Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences for 2017.

Israeli firm files patent application for 3-D “biological ink” for organ printing

 

CollPlant’s bio-ink enables the 3-D printing of tissue and organs, with the aim of providing a solution to the significant need of life saving organs.

The Israeli regenerative medicine company CollPlant has filed a US  to be used in the three-dimensional printing of tissues and organs.

CollPlant’s patent application refers to formulations of bio-ink based on the firm’s rhCollagen (recombinant type 1 human collage), a plant-based technology that mimics human collagen – the main structural protein in connective tissues. By filing the patent, the Ness Ziona-based company expressed hopes of establishing its position as a leader in three-dimensional biological printing and of forming partnerships in the field of organ printing. Porsche invests 10’s of million$ in Israel to acquire AI technology for its vehicles

 

Porsche is looking to Israel to bring it into the future of transportation, seen by its investment of eight figures in its effort to integrate artificial intelligence technology.

Porsche is establishing an “innovation office” in Israel, and investing eight figures in the effort, the German sports car manufacturer said in a statement released Thursday.

“Porsche is a company that draws on innovation,” the statement read. “And now it is establishing an ‘innovation office’ in Israel.”

WATCH: More F-35 stealths arrive in Israel for ‘Jewish conversion’ of ‘Made in Israel’ electronics

 

Upon arrival of the three F-35 jets, still plagued with original glitches, each aircraft will be immediately fitted with ‘Made in Israel’ electronic systems transferring the stealth fighter to a F-35i ‘Adir’, the most advanced jet-fighter in the world.

Three F-35 stealth fighter jets landed on Sunday in Nevatim Airbase in the Negev, joining two others that arrived about four months ago.

The three planes will undergo a thorough testing and implementation procedure lasting about a year.

Elbit Systems unveiled a helmet-mounted system on Wednesday designed to allow armored personnel carrier and tank crews to see straight through their armor.

The helmets give soldiers a 360-degree, real-time view of their surroundings while in the vehicle.

Called IronVision, the system has attracted the interest of the IDF, which may choose to acquire it. Israel’s drip irrigation giant opens first manufacturing plant in China

Drip irrigation and other water-saving technology will be getting a major boost in China, after Israeli drip irrigation leader Netafim opened its first production plant there on May 9. Netafim announced the inauguration of the plant in Yinchuan, the capital of the northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Researchers from Tel Aviv University say the smart tissue will be aware of the heart beat and intervene when it’s not functioning properly, providing regular reports to the patient & cardiologist.

In a significant breakthrough, researchers from Tel Aviv University say they have engineered a bionic heart.

eBay ignores serious security flaw exposed by Israeli cybersecurity firm

 

Despite being alerted by Israeli firm of flaw leaving 160 million worldwide  users vulnerable to malware & phishing attacks, eBay says it “has no plans to fix” the problem.

Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point revealed Tuesday that is has discovered a serious flaw in online e-commerce giant eBay’s security, allowing hackers and cyber criminals to use malicious code to target users and steal their online information.
