An Israeli pro-settlement group is campaigning for Britain to leave the EU in response for what it says is its pro-Palestinian stance, one of its officials said on Sunday.

Regavim is a right-wing NGO that supports Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Its campaign includes a mock video of a masked Palestinian militant purportedly from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip urging UK citizens to remain in the European Union because it supports the Palestinians. Continue Reading »

A woman was killed in a fatal road accident near Beersheva yesterday (Sunday), after crashing into a caravan of camels which were roaming the roads unattended.

Israel High Court of Justice rules gov’t policy should suffice on fate of illegal EU structures

 

High Court of Justice rules state should have wide discretion to decide whether demolition orders issued against illegally built European Union-financed structures east of Jerusalem should be executed or not.

Israeli authorities should not be forced to implement demolition orders that were issued for European Union-built structures east of Jerusalem, the High Court of Justice said on Monday.

US voices opposition to Israel destroying illegal EU construction of Palestinian homes

The United States is “concerned” about Israel’s demolition of Arab buildings in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, a State Department spokeswoman said on Friday, adding that it raised questions about Israel’s commitment to a two-state political solution to the Palestinian conflict.

British Report: EU using taxpayers’ money on illegal Palestinian construction, ‘meddling’ in Area C

The European Union has funded the construction of over 1,000 buildings across Area C in Judea and Samaria, giving ownership of them to the Palestinians, the British Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Israel’s Supreme Court rejected, without giving explanation, an appeal by Jewish landowners against a Bedouin tribe that’s squatting on their land in illegally built homes.

EU charged in court for funding illegal Palestinian construction

 

Charged for demolition & removal: EU financed modular structures with cement floors, constructed within the Kfar Adumim municipal boundaries, that were built without license or permits in 2015 for Palestinian Beduin on state land.

Settlers on Monday asked the High Court of Justice to order the demolition of 15 Palestinian homes in Area C of the West Bank, which they say are illegal and funded by the European Union.

The modular structures with cement floors located within the boundaries of the Kfar Adumim settlement were built in 2015 and house Palestinian Beduin.

Israel demolishes illegal EU structures also built in violation of Oslo Accords

EU condemns demolition of prefab buildings illegally erected on outskirts of Arab neighborhood of Issawiya, inhabited by Bedouin communities on state land.

Israeli authorities on Tuesday demolished an EU-funded shelter in Arab east Jerusalem, the European Union said, denouncing the move.

The blue EU logo seen on new modular structures in an illegal Bedouin encampment in the Judean hills outside the Ma’alen Adumim settlement.

“We condemn today’s demolition of temporary shelters funded by the European Union… as part of its response to the needs of the affected communities,” an EU statement said.

PA Places Prefab Structures in Illegal Attempt to Block Roadworks North of Jerusalem

Just hours after Civil Administration allowed the road widened, Palestinian Authority sets up illegal structures on work site to extend its control in ‘Area C’.

The IDF Civil Administration ordered the expropriation on Tuesday of land between the Samaria communities of Hizmeh and Adam, both of which are located just north of Jerusalem, so as to widen the local road there to have two lanes and ease traffic congestion.

A historic site in the Binyamin region north of Jerusalem may be destroyed if Israel’s courts do not intervene, the Regavim organization has warned.

The ancient structure of Khan Lubin is located near the Israeli town of Maaleh Levona. Residents of the town and other nearby communities have made an effort to preserve the site over the years.
