IDF retaliates: Israel Air Force strikes Syrian source of mortars fired on Israel

—– SECURITY UPDATE —–

Once again fighting between the sides in Syria has spilled over into Israel with a mortar shell exploding in the Golan Heights, requiring an IDF response by attacking Syrian artillery targets.

By Ahiya Raved

Following the “spillover firing” of a mortar from Syrian that landed in the Golan Heights, the IDF attacked on Sunday night Syrian army artillery. The shell fired into Israel was part of intra-national Syrian fighting, and it landed in an open area, not causing any injuries or damage.

The IDF responded by attacking artillery belonging to Syrian regime in the northern Syrian Golan Heights. Continue Reading »

The “Other” Palestinians the world couldn’t care less about

Since 2011, nearly 3,500 Palestinians have been killed in Syria, but because these Palestinians were not killed by Israel, mainstream media, ‘human rights’ organizations, or even Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority have given them any attention.

The “Other” Palestinians by Khaled Abu Toameh

It seems as though the international community has forgotten that Palestinians can be found far beyond the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. These “other” Palestinians live in Arab countries such as Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, and their many serious grievances are evidently of no interest to the international community. It is only Palestinians residing in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that garner international attention. Continue Reading »

Op-ed: American apathy facilitates Iran, Hezbollah & now Turkey’s genocidal policies

The US simply capitulated, joining the Russian-Turkish party in Syria, allowing Assad’s rule to continue, with Iran & Hezbollah establishing their hold on the war-battered country.
• Obama’s White House has totally ignored Israeli interests the entire time, starting with their betrayal of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, allowing the genocide of the Iraqi-Syrian minorities, and pretending there are no chemical weapons in Syria, despite the fact they are being openly used.

By Alex Fishman

The Americans are now selling out the Syrian Kurds to the Turks—but we’ve already gotten used to their cynical foreign policy. What Israel is having a hard time getting used to, however, is the fact its biggest ally is completely disregarding Israeli interests in the Middle East. Continue Reading »

Israeli Produced Food Aiding More Syrians to the Ire of Many

Not all Syrians are happy with the aid from the ‘Zionist Entity’ that’s been more evident of late, especially the food that’s been reaching families of Syrian rebels fighting in the southern Qunietra region on Israel’s Golan Heights border.

By Roi Kais

Israeli produced food is showing up on the frontlines in Syria, and has been causing a firestorm in Arabic media and social media.

The food has been showing up in Qunietra province which is on the border with the Israeli Golan Heights, specifically in areas controlled by rebel groups. While many of the rebel groups seem to be happy with this aid, there are others who are not too pleased with it, saying “it is a disgrace to be receiving food from the Zionist Entity which has stolen the Golan.” Continue Reading »

Irony: Israeli drone sold to Russia used to defend Assad in Syria

What appears to be an Israeli-made drone was photographed in the Syrian skies, suggesting that a UAV sold to Russia is now being used by Assad’s army against the rebels.

By Yoav Zitun & Roi Kais

An image released Sunday appears to show an Israeli-made drone flying over Syria. Israel Air Industries (IAI) sold the same model of drones to Russia, which may explain the aircraft’s presence in the country. Thus, in a stroke of irony, an Israeli drone is helping the Assad regime and its allies, Iran and Hezbollah, to maintain its rule and beat the rebels.

Syrian social media accounts claimed that the Israeli drone was sold by Russia to Assad’s army, but the photo and information were not published in official media outlets, so the accuracy of this claim is unclear. Continue Reading »
