Israel 13News: Trump peace plan gives 90% of W.Bank to Palestinians, divides Jerusalem

President Trump’s “Deal of the Century” has both sides making concessions for a final peace settlement, but the Israeli government will have to “pay a higher price” in return for the President’s recognition of Jerusalem and his relocation of the US embassy there.

The United States Middle East peace plan will let Israel keep three major settlement blocs while 90% of the West Bank will be allocated for a Palestinian state, Israel’s Channel 13 reported on Wednesday.

Citing a “senior American official”, the report revealed that the peace plan will allow Israel to annex the settlements of the Etzion Bloc, Ma’ale Adumim and Ariel, while requiring Israel to dismantle a number of illegal outposts across the West Bank. Continue Reading »

Arabic Daily: Saudis & Egypt push Arab countries to engage Israel

Al Araby Al Jadeed rReport says Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman discussed how to encourage Arab countries to develop trade relations with Israel as part of President Trump’s regional peace plan.

The leaders of Saudi Arabia and Egypt are working together to convince other Arab countries to take steps toward developing economic relations with Israel and making progress in political relations, in accordance with Israel’s demand as part of the US peace plan, according to a report this morning in the UK-based Arabic newspaper Al Araby Al Jadeed.

ANALYSIS: Netanyahu’s gov’t takes Israel onto center stage of New Mid-East

With President Trump’s assistance and the Sunni Arab Gulf state leaders’ cooperation, the Middle East is changing fast, and Israel is again taking center stage.

Despite being wholly dependent upon the goodwill of Israel, the Arab states and Western power-brokers, the Palestinian Authority has seemingly done its best to alienate each and every one.

It’s ironic, considering that much of the Palestinian leadership’s diplomatic efforts are focused on isolating Israel.

Israel’s reasons for distrusting the Palestinian Authority are clear. And numerous statements by Arab leaders across the Middle East in recent years reveal that they don’t think very highly of Mahmoud Abbas and his regime, even if they remain committed to the “Palestinian cause.” Continue Reading »

Palestinian ‘Right of Return’ still feasible according to past negotiators

Analysis: The Palestinian right of return issue seemed resolvable under peace talks that stemmed from Oslo and Camp David, according to former U.S. and Israeli negotiators.

Lebanese PM rebukes possibility of citizenship to ‘Palestinian refugees’

Responding to reports that the Trump peace initiative has the hosting mid-East countries granting their so-called “Palestinian refugees” citizenship, Lebanon’s Foreign Minister says his country will never agree.
– UNRWA accepts donations to aid  449,957 “Palestinian refugees” in Lebanon, but official Lebanese count stands at 174,422.

Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil says his country will never agree to grant Lebanese citizenship to so-called “Palestinian refugees”, in response to reports that the US government would like the countries hosting the “refugees” to grant them citizenship.

“Even if the entire world agrees to naturalization, we will never agree to that, and just as we defeated Israel by removing its occupation [from Lebanon in 2000], we will defeat it with regard to the naturalization plan and the right of return that will remain sacred,” Bassil said in an interview with Lebanese newspaper Al Joumhouria. PLO Washington Office Closed By Trump White House

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, announced that PLO mission office in Washington was officially closed due to Palestinian entrenchment over the past 10 months in refusing to engage in peace talks.

The Trump administration ordered the closure of the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Washington on Monday, citing the refusal of Palestinian leaders to enter into peace talks with Israel, prompting the Palestinians to accuse the administration of dismantling decades of US engagement with them.

Palestinian intransigence has Trump anointing Jordan as ‘partner’

Since Mahmoud Abbas has steered the PLO into refusing to negotiate with Israel on President Trump’s still to be revealed peace ‘deal of the century’, Jordan has resurrected its claims over ‘West Bank’ sovereignty and the U.S. is prepared to have the Kingdom step in to replace the Palestinian Authority as a negotiating partner.

REPORT: The U.S. will end its support of UNRWA’s appraisal of “5 million Palestinian refugees,” that span 3 generations and born in countries throughout the world, as fulfilling the accepted definition of ‘refugee.’ Such a broad definition was/is not afforded to any other group of refugees anywhere in the world, at anytime, or by any body, UN or otherwise.

Trump strips $200m in aid to the Palestinian Authority

Failing a review directed by President Trump “to ensure these funds are spent in accordance with U.S. national interests and provide value to the U.S. taxpayer,” the State Department cut  $200+ million in aid to the Palestinians.

Having deemed President Trump as ‘pro-Israel’, Palestinian officials parrot Abbas, dismissing all assurances of gaining something “very good”, should they stop rejecting out of hand all calls to return to the negotiating table.

Palestinian leaders rejected apparent overtures by US President Donald Trump on Wednesday after he said they would get something “very good” in exchange for his country recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The December decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the US embassy to the city sparked fury among Palestinians, with the political leadership cutting off ties to the US administration.

World leaders still ignore the fact that Hamas absolutely refuses any peace with the Jews and unfortunately, after a generation of indoctrination and incitement from their leaders, many Palestinians support their agenda.

With Abbas’ entrenchment, US to focus on Gaza without PA involvement

The U.S. is focusing their efforts to improve the humanitarian conditions in Gaza with a major infusion to the strip’s crippled infrastructure, but without the involvement of PA’s autocrat Abbas, since the peace plan has remained stalled due to the entrenchment of the Palestinian leadership.

White House fingers HAARETZ for distorting message to Palestinian leaders

A U.S. National Security Council spokesman confirmed that an op-ed headline from Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East peace process, was indeed changed by Haaretz editors, and openly accused the Israeli ‘left’ newspaper of revealing a bias toward conflict in doing so, which has led to a false, misleading narrative that was ‘delivered’ to the Palestinian Authority.
