NYT Report: Kerry’s plan sees East Jerusalem as Palestinian capital

 

Senior NYT analyst Thomas Friedman, lays out expected points of John Kerry’s framework deal, which he believes will include phased withdrawal from West Bank according to 1967 lines but will not allow Palestinian refugees to return to Israel.

 

 

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s draft framework agreement for Middle East peace talks will include support for establishing a Palestinian capital in Arab areas of East Jerusalem, senior New York Times analyst Thomas Friedman wrote in his column published Wednesday.

Five Egyptian soldiers were killed when a military helicopter crashed to the ground in the northern Sinai peninsula, near Gaza, on Saturday. While the military said that the soldiers were killed in a helicopter “accident” as they pursued terrorists, the Al Qaeda-inspired Ansar Beit al Maqdis group said its fighters brought down the helicopter with a missile – and have posted a video corroborating the claim.

A French court has ordered a Pro Palestinian Authority group affiliated with the Boycott Israel movement to compensate the company and to stop all activities alleging that SodaStream products are illegally made and sold.

The company, whose Mishor Adumim factory in Israel’s Judean Desert is only one of 20 around the world, sued the Association France Palestine Solidarite (AFPS) in a Paris civil court for activities that the company said included “falsely claiming that the products are ‘illegally sold’ as a result of being manufactured in ‘occupied territories’ while bearing the ‘Made in Israel’ label.” Continue Reading »

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gives Israel a 3 year deadline to withdraw every Jew from Judea and Samaria, in the event of an interim deal.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has given Israel 3 years to withdraw from Judea and Samaria in the event that an interim agreement is reached, according to AFP.

“Those who are proposing 10 to 15 years (before a withdrawal) do not want to withdraw at all,” Abbas said in an interview screened on Tuesday at the annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) taking place in Tel Aviv. Continue Reading »

More men than women are single, with 958 bachelors for every 798 bachelorettes.

A group of 16 East Jerusalem residents have been arrested by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israel police on suspicion of being part of a Hamas cell operating in eastern neighborhoods of the city and the Temple Mount, the security service stated on Tuesday.

U.S. media watchdog protests NY Times’ anti-Israel media coverage

 

CAMERA places billboard across The New York Times’ offices in downtown N.Y.C. calling on the paper to stop its bias reporting & slanted commentary against Israel.

 

 

Boston-based American media watchdog group CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) launched a campaign against The New York Times for what it claims is the paper’s biased coverage of Israel, the PRNewswire reported.

Abbas’ PA Police Conduct Covert Operation Inside Israeli Jurisdiction

Palestinian Authority forces complete undercover operation to fight crime in ‘no man’s land’ between Jerusalem & Israel’s security fence.

Without attracting any attention, the Palestinian Authority (PA) Police have been carrying out large scale operations in the police vacuum in neighborhoods north of Jerusalem, according to journalist Baruch Yedid.

Yedid also revealed that the operation was not coordinated with Israeli Police or the IDF – unlike previous operations in Area B which have been prearranged between the PA and Israel. WASHINGTON — A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly would suspend funding to educational institutions which fund groups that boycott Israel.

The legislation, introduced earlier this month by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and first reported by Mondoweiss, an anti-Zionist news site, would ban state funding to colleges which fund groups that boycott “in countries that host higher education institutions chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York.”

Fox rejects Johansson’s SodaStream ad over its comment at Coke & Pepsi

WATCH: Rejection is not new for SodaStream, when last year, CBS refused to air a different ad for the same reason.

 

 

US television network Fox on Monday rejected a Super Bowl ad by SodaStream, featuring actress Scarlet Johansson, over its digs at Coca-Cola and Pepsi, themselves major advertisers.

The commercial, which SodaStream posted on its YouTube page Monday, features Johansson extolling the virtues of the do-it-yourself carbonation kit as a means of “saving the world,” joking that as an actress, that is her real job.
