UN’s Envoy Investigating Israel in ‘War Crimes’ Probe Denied Entry Into Gaza

An official revealed that Israel has blocked a visit to Gaza, Judea and Samaria by a member of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which is poised to released a report over last summer’s counter-terror Operation Protective Edge; the report is anticipated to be highly biased against Israel.

Egyptians were outraged Sunday, causing an uproar in the local media after discovering that a museum near Cairo had been displaying a picture of none other than the fourth prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir.

The new “Pioneering Women” museum in the Pharaonic Village of Giza opened Saturday, with the purpose of relating the stories of women who had changed society. Facebook has taken down pages that may have been selling archaeological finds looted by the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

The militant group has reportedly been using the social media network to sell off the invaluable artifacts believed to have been plundered by Islamic State militants from Syrian archaeological sites.

After receiving reports about the illegal sales efforts, Facebook removed the pages featuring the stolen items, which included scrolls written in both Hebrew and Aramaic, clay tablets, and ancient coins and golden statues. Continue Reading »

Report: Israel Plans Creation of Buffer Zone to Save Syrian Druze

Israel intends to create a humanitarian buffer zone inside Syria, along its border, in order to help that country’s Druze, according to the Walla News web site. Israel is in contact with the Red Cross and various countries regarding the buffer zone.

A Palestinian terrorist died in clashes with the IDF near Ramallah Sunday morning, after his attack on an army jeep backfired quite spectacularly.

Abdallah Ghanayem, 21, died after being struck by the vehicle during clashes that erupted in the village of Kfar Malik following a dawn Israeli army raid, the Palestinian Authority sources said.

An IDF spokesman confirmed to AFP that a Palestinian had died – after he threw an incendiary device at a jeep and the vehicle overturned on him.

A multi-national group of former senior military and political leaders on Friday released its findings that during Operation Protective Edge, “Israel not only met a reasonable international standard of observance of the laws of armed conflict, but in many cases significantly exceeded that standard.”
