Israel’s PM Netanyahu to meet with Putin in Sochi, then Kushner in Jerusalem

PM Netanyahu is to meet Russia’s President Putin in the resort city of Sochi and afterwards with President Trump’s US envoys to discuss Iran, Syria, and how to persuade the Palestinian autocrat Mahmoud Abbas, to engage in peace talks.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet on Wednesday in the Russian city Sochi, near the Black Sea.

The two leaders will speak about regional developments, especially in light of Israel’s concern that Iran’s influence in Syria is growing.

A Palestinian teenager who tried to attack an Israeli border guard in the West Bank with a knife on Saturday was shot dead, an Israeli police spokeswoman said.

Border Police officers caught an Arab infiltrator attempting to cross into Jerusalem by hiding in the trunk of a car.

The incident occurred on Thursday night, when a 35-year-old Arab driver aroused Border Police officers’ suspicions when he tried to cross into Jerusalem via the a-Zaim security checkpoint.

The officers insisted on inspecting the car, and upon opening the trunk discovered an Arab Hevron resident in his 20s attempting to cross into pre-1967 Israel without the necessary permits. Continue Reading »

US federal court revoked citizenship, deports PFLP terrorist to Jordan

A Palestinian woman who perpetrated a 1969 supermarket bombing and later immigrated to the United States had her citizenship revoked on Thursday and was sentenced to deportation to Jordan by a US federal court in Detroit.

Comedian and television host Conan O’Brien announced on his show that he will be visiting Israel in September to film a special episode of his travel series Conan without Borders. The announcement was complete with Israeli flag graphics and Hebrew text.

“Due to all the division, strife, intractable hatred and violence in our country right now I have decided to leave America for the relative peace and quiet of the Middle East. That’s right people, I am going to Israel!” He said.

He continued: “I may be in Israel the same week as President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who’s been sent there to broker a Middle East solution.

ISIS suicide bomber from Gaza kills Hamas commander, injurers others

When Hamas security forces at the Rafah crossing into Egypt tried to stop two Salafists terrorists, one of them set off an explosion, killing the Hamas commander and wounding several others.

A commander in Hamas’s military wing was killed early Thursday in an ISIS suicide bombing at the Rafah border crossing, which connects the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Jerusalem Arab woman warns police of a suspicious Arab man whom she observed with a concealed knife as he was going toward Jerusalem’s city center.

Police captured an Arab suspect from Shuafat neighborhood in northeastern Jerusalem as he made his way to the center of town with a concealed knife, following a tip by an Arab woman who observed him with the weapon.

The woman, also a resident of Shuafat, reportedly witnessed the suspect placing a sharp object in his bag before boarding a bus towards downtown Jerusalem.

WATCH: IDF uses Patriot missile to successfully intercept UAV in nighttime exercise

According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the successful interception of the UAV using the Patriot surface-to-air missile system was part of a larger exercise scheduled for 2017.

A Patriot surface-to-air missile was successfully test fired Wednesday from a base in central Israel as part of an air force exercise designed to test Israel’s air defense capabilities against threats.

As part of the exercise, the American-made system scored a direct hit on an airborne UAV.

Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up next to Hamas security personnel

According to reports in the Arab media, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, next to Hamas members who were arresting him.

The Interior Ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday night that a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian border, according to reports in Israeli and Arab media.

Israel on Tuesday sent humanitarian aid to the West African country of Sierra Leone after a deadly mudslide struck areas outside the capital, Freetown.

Authorities said more than 400 people were killed in and around Freetown on Monday after heavy rains triggered a massive mudslide. The Red Cross estimated that 600 people were still missing, and said the death toll was certain to rise. Continue Reading »
