Christian Arab becomes legal advisor for Israel Ministry office

 

Being the first Christian Arab to become legal advisor to a Ministry office, Maron Halifah said, “I never ever felt different because I was part of a minority, I never ever felt any discrimination, and I think that the state does encourage minorities to work in the public sector.”

A Christian Arab has been nominated to become the legal advisor to the Ministry of Development in the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee, making him the first Arab ever to occupy the position of a legal advisor in a government office.

Palestinian Authority arrests Sa’ir’s mayor & 13 municipal employees over water theft

 

Palestinian Mayor acknowledges that the residents of his village Sa’ir, have been known to steal water from the Water Authority’s pipes, but maintains his innocents over the massive water theft.

The Palestinian Water Authority and the Sa’ir Municipality are at odds over the disappearance of large amounts of water from Sa’ir, a town of 25,000 northeast of Hebron, as the region experiences water shortages.

Israeli humanitarian delegation gives Italian quake victims emergency assistance

UN to Israel: Release our employee who illegally siphoned aid money to Hamas

The United Nations sent Israel a formal demand that United Nations Development Programme employee who was arrested for redirecting Gaza humanitarian aid money to Hamas military projects, be released.

The UN’s Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) sent a letter to Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, requesting the release of Waheed Al-Bursh, an UNDP worker who was arrested in July for assisting the Hamas terror organization, claiming he should receive diplomatic immunity.

Israel launches tourism ad campaign for India TV

 

Israel’s Tourism Ministry invests $1.5 million in TV ad campaign to encourage tourism from India to the Holy Land, with a set goal of 100,000 visiting tourists by 2018.

Israel’s Tourism Ministry is looking to break into the Asian market, with the launch of its first major TV advertising campaign in India to promote incoming tourism to Israel.

According to the Tourism Ministry, India is one of the major emerging markets for incoming tourism to Israel.

A new controversy may have been sparked in Jerusalem by Nir Barkat, who announced that the Jerusalem cable-car will have a station in Silwan. Barkat announced the decision in a Likud activists’ assembly and they were reported this morning by Haaretz reporter Nir Hasson.

Just two days after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Moscow wanted to host talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Netanyahu spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday about the diplomatic process.

IsraAid, the Israeli aid NGO is sending a delegation of aid professionals to assist families devastated by the worst natural disaster to hit the U.S. since Hurricane Sandy.

IsraAid, the Israeli international aid organization, will be sending a delegation of aid workers to assist the people affected by the flooding in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The eight person humanitarian delegation is slated to fly out to the areas affected by flooding by the weekend. They will help Louisiana residents return to their homes to collect personal effects, and help to begin the process of rehabilitating flooded out homes so that the Louisianans’ lives that have been affected by the flooding can go back to normal.

Palestinian terrorist killed after stabbing Soldier in Samaria

 

After an IDF unit cornered a group of Palestinian stone-throwers who had been targeting Israeli cars, a male Arab stabbed a soldier prompting his unit to neutralize the threat.

And IDF soldier was wounded Wednesday afternoon in a terrorist stabbing attack outside of the town of Yitzhar in Samaria.

Investigators say the attack occurred when a squad of Israeli soldiers pursued a group of Arab stone-throwers who had been targeting Israeli cars.

Brussels Airlines acquiesced to BDS, decides to stop serving Israeli halva

 

Upon learning from the Palestinian Solidarity Movement that the Israeli Achva brand halva being served on its flight from Israel to Brussels was produced on “illegally occupied land in the West Bank” the airline quietly capitulated saying “we decided to change desserts.”

Belgian carrier Brussels Airlines has stopped handing out Ahva brand halva snacks on flights following a request by the Palestine Solidarity Movement.The snack is produced in the Barkan industrial park in the West Bank on land the organization claims is “illegally occupied.”

It’s Official: Israel and Guinea Finalize Diplomatic Ties!

 

With the intentions of supporting each other in world forums and on the war on terror, Israel’s Foreign Ministry Director General met with Guinea’s president to finalize ambassadorial appointments, a formality not undertaken since Guinea cut ties with Israel in 1967.

Israeli Foreign Ministry Director General Dore Gold met with Guinean President Alpha Conde and 10 of his ministers, including the foreign, defense, finance, energy, and development ministers, in the West African country’s capital of Conakry on Monday.

Violent protests after detainee beaten to death when in Palestinian Police custody

 

Hundreds of rioters in Nablus, some throwing stones, marched through the city protesting the death of Ahmed Halawa, who, arrested for the death of two Palestinian Authority police officers, was allegedly beaten to death while in custody.

Nablus, the second largest city in the West Bank, was gripped by violent protests on Tuesday after the death of a Palestinian detainee shortly after he was seized by Palestinian security forces.
