Israeli invented synthetic cornea returns eyesight to blind 78yr old

After receiving the first implant of an artificial cornea, a 78-year-old patient was able to recognize his family members and read a text immediately after his bandages were removed at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

A 78-year-old man who has been blind in both eyes for 10 years has regained his sight after receiving the first implant of an artificial cornea developed by Israeli startup CorNeat, the company announced Monday.

The CorNeat KPro implant is designed to replace deformed, scarred or opacified corneas, and it integrates with the eye wall with no reliance on donor tissue. Continue Reading »

MAZEL TOV! Israeli hospital cures 29 of 30 COVID-19 patients in 3-5 days

Although the 30th patient also fully recovered later on, 29 out of 30 moderate-to-severe COVID-19 patients recovered from the disease and were released within 3 to 5 days after using a new treatment developed by Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center.

Twenty-nine out of 30 moderate-to-severe COVID-19 patients who were administered a treatment developed by Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov Hospital) as part of a Phase I trial recovered from the disease and were released within three to five days, the hospital said Friday.

The 30th patient also recovered but it took longer.

COVID Breakthrough? Israel claims 99.9% of virus killed in 30 seconds

This study conducted at the Tel Aviv University has proven that 99.9% of the COVID-19 virus can be killed cheaply and within 30 seconds by using UV light-emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) at specific frequencies.

Ultraviolet radiation is a common method of killing bacteria and viruses. Now, researchers from Tel Aviv University have proven that the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, can be killed efficiently, quickly and cheaply using ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) at specific frequencies.

Israel’s newest corvette missile ship arrives from Germany

It will take around 18 months for Israel to complete installing the latest technologies and weapons systems, 90% of which are uniquely Israeli-made, on the INS Magen, the newest and most technologically advanced Sa’ar 6 class corvette missile ship.

The Israeli startup CorNeat Vision has received approval to conduct clinical trials of a synthetic cornea that bio-integrates with the human eye.

Using nanoparticles Israeli mask 98% effective, washable, reusable

What originally started as an Israeli startup, quickly became a commercial business manufacturing anti-viral face masks with a unique anti-pathogen fabric for the U.S. market by using sound waves to infuse nanoparticles into the fabric.

The Israeli startup Sonovia, which sped up efforts to manufacture masks using its anti-pathogen fabric at the start of the coronavirus crisis in Israel, has launched commercial sales.

BREAKTHROUGH: Israel finds antibody that neutralizes coronavirus

According to a statement by Israel’s Defense Ministry, the Israel Institute for Biological Research “is the first institution to achieve a scientific breakthrough that meets all three” of the parameters needed.
– Collaborating with the town of Yeroham, a planned vaccine production facility will ensure Israeli self-sufficiency for both regular routine vaccinations and in cases of a pandemic.

100% survival rate on Israeli COVID-19 treatment for critically ill

According to preliminary data provided by the Haifa-based company, not only have all six of the critically ill coronavirus patients that were treated survived, but four of them showed improvement in respiratory parameters.

Six critically ill coronavirus patients in Israel who are considered high-risk for mortality have been treated with Pluristem’s placenta-based cell-therapy product and survived, according to preliminary data provided by the Haifa-based company.

13 Yr-Old Israeli Girl Develops Oxygen Producing System for Space

Through a process of photosynthesis, the budding young Israeli scientist’s satellite will produce oxygen in space.

A 13-year-old Israeli girl has invented a system for the production of oxygen in space, the Hebrew youth paper Ma’ariv L’Noar reported on Thursday, along with an interview with the budding tween scientist from Ramat Hasharon.

The recent winner of the “Satellite Is Born” award from the Israel Space Agency, Roni Oron developed BioSat “to solve a problem for astronauts trying to prove that life on Mars is possible.”

Israeli scientists predict coronavirus vaccine only weeks away

Israeli researchers in the Upper Galilee are currently establishing parameters, permitting the safety approvals that will enable the Galilee Research Institute’s preclinical testing of a coronavirus vaccine.

A group of Israeli researchers at the Galilee Research Institute (MIGAL) are close to developing a coronavirus vaccine that could be ready in three weeks and available within 90 days, according to Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Ofir Akunis.
