Melanoma Vaccine Developed by Israeli Researchers

A new protocol developed by Tel Aviv University researchers using nanotechnology that proved effective in preventing melanoma tumors in mice could lead to a major breakthrough in the treatment of far more dangerous skin cancers.

Nature Nanotechnology published on August 5 a study led by Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, chair of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology and head of the Laboratory for Cancer Research and Nanomedicine at Tel Aviv Universality’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Helena Florindo of the University of Lisbon, while on sabbatical at the Satchi-Fainaro lab at Tel Aviv University.

Israel and the United States say they have successfully tested a jointly developed missile defense system in Alaska.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a weekly cabinet meeting Sunday that the Arrow 3 test was a success “beyond any imagination,” and warned the country’s enemies from the testing Israel’s military capabilities.

Archaeologists in Israel announce location of biblical city of Ziklag

The Philistine town of Ziklag may have been found near the southern Israeli town of Kiryat Gat, where a team of Israeli & Australian archaeologists think they have located the biblical city where young David hid from King Saul prior to traveling to Hebron, where he was anointed King of Israel.

Operating at a fraction the cost of conventional airliners, the $4 million ‘Alice’ will redefine how people travel regionally, flying at 273 mph for up to 621 miles on one battery charge, a new era of flying begins now, that is quieter, cleaner, and far more cost-effective.

Eviation Aircraft Ltd., an Israeli aviation company, displayed the Eviation Alice, an entirely electric commuter plane, at the Paris Air Show this week.

Israeli Startup Developed Biodegradable Plastics That’s 100% Compostable

Founded in 2010 by Daphna Nissenbaum and Tal Neuman, their Israeli startup TIPA from central Israel has developed durable plastic-like bags & packaging from natural materials that breaks down after use and can even be used for compost in your garden.

Israel ramps-up construction of security barrier on Gaza Border

The first section of Israel’s new 6-8 meter high solid concrete barrier, that will prevent Hamas terrorists from firing at Israeli vehicles traveling in sight from Gaza or agricultural field workers along the border has been completed, and a new section has begun.

Israeli Medial Team Develop New Treatment For Pancreatic Cancer

Phinergy’s fully electric vehicle doesn’t need charging, just water & air

WATCH: Phinergy’s  Metal Air energy systems, based on technology originating at Bar Ilan University in Israel, significantly increases the driving range of current electric vehicles… and with zero emission.

 

Phinergy is an Israeli start-up company specializing in hybrid lithium-ion and aluminum-air/zinc-air battery systems for electric vehicles.

The company was founded in 2008 by Aviv Tzidon, who also acts as the CEO of the company, based on technology originating at Bar Ilan University.

Phinergy has patented a “nano-porous silver-based catalyst”, which allows oxygen into the electrode and the cell while at the same time blocking carbon dioxide.

Israel Completes World‘s Largest Solar & Thermal Electric Facility

The state-of-the-art thermal electric power plant in Israel’s Negev Desert is equipped with more than 50,000 computer-controlled heliostats that produce enough power for 150,000 homes, keeping 110,000 tons of CO2 emissions out of the air per year.

The Ashalim solar and thermal electric power plant in Israel’s Negev Desert is up and running. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with more than 50,000 computer-controlled heliostats or mirrors, which can track the sun in two dimensions and reflect the sunlight onto a boiler placed on top of a tower measuring 240 m-high (787.4 ft). “Servant of the King” seal unearthed in City of David

Once again, the archaeological find of yet another unearthed artifact not only supports Jerusalem to be an ancient Jewish city, it corroborate the accounts written in the Holy Bible.

A Rare and Exciting Discovery: A 2,600-year-old seal with impression bearing the words: “belongs to Nathan-Melech, Servant of the King.”

The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) reports that the seal was excavated in the City of David along the south-eastern slopes of the Temple Mount and is dated to the First Temple period.

The name Nathan-Melech appears only once in the Bible, in II Kings 23:11, where he is described as an official in the court of King Josiah, who participated in a cleansing of the Temple precincts that King Josiah initiated. Continue Reading »

India-Israel fund grants $4.9M on medical imaging initiative in India

The India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund allocates $4.9M to finance a project to develop AI-based screening to identify major diseases early on, such as tuberculosis.

A major Indian hospital group and Israel’s Zebra Medical Vision have announced a new collaboration on a medical imaging initiative in India.

The project, which will focus on deploying AI (artificial intelligence)-based tools across India, is receiving $4.9 million in support from the India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F).
