Israeli 16 year-old develops GPS-activated ID tag to foil kidnappings

The kidnap & murder of 3 Jewish teenage boys by Palestinians in June 2014 inspired 16 year old Amit Saban to develop a “smart” dog tag, which transmits ID & location to authorities when activated.

By Nitzi Yakov

A teenager from Ramat Hasharon has recently launched a startup that makes “smart” ID tags with built-in GPS technology that can help soldiers and civilians in distress, and even prevent abductions.

“The tag I invented contains a chip with GPS, so if a soldier is in trouble he presses [the tag] and his information and location are sent via a computer program to the IDF and his parents,” Amit Saban, 16, explains to Israel Hayom. Continue Reading »

#oops: Naked Spanish Activists Anger Palestinian Patrons

By Elior Levy

Pro-Palestinian Spanish activists posted photos online Wednesday, naked except for red clown noses in front of the West Bank separation barrier in Jerusalem, meant to show opposition to the wall dividing Israelis from Palestinians.

The group witnessed a somewhat unexpected reaction online however, as members of the conservative-leaning Palestinian community slammed them for lack of respect and “disgusting solidarity.

White House gives Palestinian killer of US citizens a mere slap on the wrist

Although Deif masterminded the bombings in which hundreds of Israelis, as well as a number of Americans were murdered, the State Dept has ‘blacklisted’ him, instead of issuing warrants for his arrest.

By Stephen M. Flatow/JNS.org

The Obama administration announced Sept. 8 that it is putting Mohammed Deif and three other Palestinian terrorists on its “designated terrorists” list. That’s basically a slap on the wrist—for someone who should be subjected to U.S. prosecution, not U.S. name-calling.

Deif was trained in the art of bomb making by the infamous Hamas leader Yehya Ayyash, nicknamed “The Engineer.” When Ayyash was killed in 1995, Deif was chosen as his successor.

Pro-Palestinian B’Tselem, Blames Jewish Israelis for Losing Dutch Funding

Confrontational and propaganda-driven pro-Palestinian NGO blasts ‘right-wing Israelis’ for voting for legitimate humanitarian groups to attain a lucrative European grant, making them ineligible.

By Ari Soffer

Far-left Israeli NGO B’Tselem is licking its wounds after falling short in an online vote to win a 100,000 euro-grant from the Dutch government – and is blaming “right-wingers” for spoiling its chances.

B’Tselem – which receives most of its funding from foreign, primarily European, donors – was among 30 NGOs and charities running for the Dutch Human Rights Tulip 2015.

Six candidates – including three “public favorites” along with another three “wild cards” selected by judges – will be shortlisted for the prize money, following which “an independent jury will meet and advise the Dutch minister of Foreign Affairs, who will select the winner.” Continue Reading »

Palestinian gunmen open fire on PA security forces in Jenin wounding three

By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Three Palestinians were wounded, one of them seriously, in a gun battle that erupted in Jenin refugee camp late Tuesday between Palestinian security officers and local gunmen.

The armed clashes erupted after gunmen opened fire into the air during a rally in protest against visits by Jews to the Temple Mount, eyewitnesses said.

Bullet impacts are seen on a wall as a Palestinian man inspects a house where two members of the military wing of Hamas, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, and a civilian were killed on March 22, 2014 during an Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank of Jenin.

Weighing Suggested Deterrent: Deport East Jerusalem Rock-Throwers

Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister insists deporting convicted violent assailants and their families will create an immediate deterrence with parents no longer allowing their children to throw rocks.

By Hezki Ezra

The IDF could intervene in future rock-throwing attacks, Deputy Defense Minister MK Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan stated Wednesday, in the event the Israel Police needs reinforcements.

“If the police think it needs help then I have no doubt the army would be happy to lend a hand and help,” Ben-Dahan stated to reporters as he left the funeral of rock attack victim Alexander Levlovitz, 64.

“While we celebrated Rosh Hashanah, our Arab neighbors threw rocks and killed Jews,” he continued. Continue Reading »

Iceland’s capital bans all goods from Jewish State

In support of Palestinian claims of Israel’s ‘racist apartheid policies,’ Reykjavik city council has passed a resolution boycotting all Israeli-made products.

By Itamar Eichner

The city council of Icelandic capital Reykjavik has passed a resolution banning all Israeli-made products in protest of policy in the Palestinian territories.

The resolution was proposed by Councilwoman Björk Vilhelmsdóttir, who mentioned that she intends to spend the rest of the year doing humanitarian work in the Palestinian territories.

The resolution appears to be purely symbolic, since it didn’t mention specific companies or products, and it’s not clear if the Reykjavik municipal authorities have even had any business ties to Israeli companies –  or if they’ve been purchasing Israeli products – so far. Continue Reading »
