Bahrain Officially Invites Israel’s Economy Minister to Startup Conference

This latest invitation by Bahrain follows other Gulf visits such as Israel’s PM Netanyahu’s trip to Oman, Israel’s Culture Minister Miri Regev and then last week Communications Minister Ayoub Kara, both to Abu Dhabi.

Yedioth Ahronoth reports that Economy Minister Eli Cohen (Kulanu) was invited by the Arab nation of Bahrain to participate in its “Startup Nations Ministerial” conference.

Senior government officials from all over the world are expected to attend the conference to identify new policy tools that will boost technology initiatives between the two countries.

Gaza’s health ministry said on Thursday that a Palestinian had been killed by Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) gunfire after attempting to cross the border fence.

The health ministry also said that a Palestinian shot last month during protests on the Israel-Gaza border has succumbed to his wounds on Thursday.

Egyptian naval forces kill Gaza fisherman after crossing border illegally

Gaza’s fishermen’s union reported the death of a 32 yr-old male by “Egyptian [naval] fire” after having possibly strayed from the enclave’s waters.

A Palestinian fisherman was killed at sea by Egyptian fire near the Gaza border on Wednesday, the fishermen’s union said.

The health ministry in Gaza confirmed that Mustafa Abu Awda, 32, had died but did not give further details.

The union said in a statement that he had been killed by “Egyptian fire”.

A fishing boat from Gaza seized last year by Israel’s navy after they found these cans of liquid fiberglass–used in construction of missiles & mortars.

A new survey has found that British Jews are growing ‎increasingly concerned over anti-Semitism in the ‎country. ‎

According to data presented by Gideon Falter, ‎chairman of the Campaign against Anti-Semitism NGO, ‎‎90% of British Jews believe the Labour Party is ‎anti-Semitic and 40% are considering leaving the U.K. ‎over the rise in anti-Semitism.‎

Nabbed: Bulgarian officials arrest 3 Iranians with fake Israeli Passports

Once again it remains unclear how Iranians successfully traveled throughout Turkey unnoticed with counterfeit Israeli Passports or why they too sought to gain entry into Bulgaria posing as Israelis.

Three Iranians traveling with fake Israeli passports were detained in Bulgaria over the weekend, according to a report at The Sofia Globe.

According to the report, the men were detained at the Bulgarian border as they were attempting to cross the Kapitan Andreevo crossing into Turkey, which is the major transit point for entering Europe.

Tunisia’s PM Appoints Jewish Minister of Tourism

Appointed by the Tunisian Prime Minister, the new tourism minister Roni Trabelsi, will be the second Jewish minister to have ever served in the predominantly Muslim country, after Nessim Samama, who served as the finance minister to the King of Tunis in 1860.

Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed announced 13 new appointments in his Cabinet on Monday, including several ministers. The new tourism minister is Roni Trabelsi, a Jewish man who reportedly lives in France but also holds Tunisian citizenship.

Palestinian Official: ‘Israel stole our snake’

After Israel chose the daboia palaestinae to be its national snake, the Palestinian Authority protested the move, calling it an act of ‘theft’ and an affront to preserve ‘Palestinian identity’.

The Palestine viper, or daboia palaestinae, was selected based on an online vote.
