Israel’s Wine Industry Leaving Italy & France in the Dust

Eli Poch, the CEO of the Jerusalem Wine Club, says the Israeli wine industry has advantages that are allowing for unparalleled growth.

In 1987, the Golan Heights Winery won Israeli wines their first major international award in competition with the 1984 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 1984 at the International Wines & Spirits Competition in London. Eli Poch, the Founder and CEO of the Jerusalem Wine Club and proprietor of the Club’s full-service wine shop in Efrat, says the industry has never looked back.

In the nearly 30 years since the industry was revitalized by that one award, the number of wineries has gone from a handful to between 250 and 400.

Singapore seeks closer ties with Israel

Since both countries are high-tech nations with small populations, they have to turn to broader markets to expand and thrive.

 

Singapore is looking to increase its investments in Israel, and serve as a bridge to the wider Asian market.

Survey: More Brits Prefer Iran over Israel

The latest survey finds Brits feel most disapproving towards the Jewish State, with exception only to North Korea, than any other non-European country in the world.

Britons dislike Israel more than they do any other non-European country in the world, with the exception of North Korea, a new study found.

The Chatham House-YouGov survey, which documents British attitudes toward the United Kingdom’s international relations polices, was published last week.

In a section titled “General public attitudes towards other countries” respondents were asked to name the countries they “feel especially favorable towards” and “especially unfavorable towards.”

The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the Jewish population stood at 6,135,000 – or 75 percent of the population. The Arab population numbered at 1,694,000 (20.7 percent), while non-Arab Christians and other minorities made up 4.3 percent of the population at 351,000 citizens.

US & UK urge UN to probe Israeli seizure of Iranian arms ship

Arab League supports PA’s refusal to recognize Israel as Jewish state
