Movement seeks continuing anti-terror wall to separate Palestinian towns from Jerusalem

Tenth Roman Legion bathhouse and nearby winery found in Jerusalem

Ahead of construction on a new housing project, ancient finds were unearthed including a large winery from the Roman or Byzantine period and a bathhouse dating back around 1,600 years ago.

Ancient 1,600-year-old finds were recently unearthed during archaeological excavations on the Schneller Compound in Jerusalem, prior to the construction of residential buildings for the capital’s haredi population.

7,000 yr-old settlement discovered in northern Jerusalem by Israeli archaeologists

 

Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority described finding the 2 homes, with floors containing pottery vessels, flint tools & a basalt bowl, as the oldest discovery of its kind in the area.

Ostrich nabbed for strolling Jerusalem streets

 

Jerusalem residents found the unaccompanied avian’s stroll highly amusing, with several of them taking pictures of, and with the ostrich, after she escaped from her owner’s home.

Employees of Jerusalem’s veterinary service caught an ostrich that was walking freely through the Israeli capital’s Gilo neighborhood on Sunday afternoon. The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo checked and found that no ostriches were missing, meaning the bird must have escaped from a person who was privately raising it without reporting the fact to city authorities.

2 Palestinian terrorists killed after stabbing 2 IDF soldiers

 

2 IDF soldiers were hurt in Judea & Samaria, one moderately wounded, & the other lightly wounded.

Footage has emerged of two brave Border Police officers neutralizing the terrorists outside Jerusalem’s Old City Wednesday, then immediately working to treat the victims.

Two Arab terrorists stabbed three Israelis in their thirties Wednesday afternoon at Jerusalem’s Jaffa Gate.

Border Policewomen stationed in the area opened fire on both of them, killing one and wounding the other, who was then promptly taken into custody; the footage shows the two moving quickly to both help neutralize the attacker and help security forces and bystanders treat victims.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday decided to fortify 300 bus stations in Jerusalem after a terrorist from East Jerusalem rammed his car into people waiting at a bus stop at the western entrance to the capital, wounding 11 people.

The prime minister held a consultation with Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat in the wake of the attack, in which he instructed them to place concrete barriers in front of hundreds of Jerusalem bus stations.

Two Arab terrorists, father and son, were arrested on Tuesday afternoon after explosives and weapons were discovered in their home in Jerusalem.

Their home is located adjacent to the Jerusalem District Court on Salah al-Din Road not far from Hebrew University’s Mount Scopus Campus; just last Monday a firebomb was thrown at the court in an attempt to burn it down.

Police detectives searched the home aided by Border Patrol officers and a canine unit, and found hidden in the house explosives, improvised rifles and ammunition.

Beneath a once paved parking lot archaeologists uncover Greek King Antiochus’ fortress in Jerusalem

 

After a century of searching, archaeologists in Israel say they have found the remnants of the ancient Greek fortress used to fight the rebellion led by Judah Maccabee, that’s celebrated in the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Researchers have long debated the location of the Acra, built more than 2,000 years ago by Greek king Antiochus Epiphanes. Many asserted it stood in what is now the walled Old City, at spots like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or by the hilltop where the two Jewish temples once towered.

Bedouin Leaders Call on Jordan’s King to Declare War on Israel

 

Bedouin leaders published a letter sent to Jordan’s King Abdullah, urging the Kingdom to create special military brigades that will attack and liberate Jerusalem from the Zionists.

More than 50 Bedouin leaders have published a joint statement in which they call on Jordanian King Abdullah to create a military unit tasked with “liberating” Jerusalem.

“Arab regimes in general, and the Jordanian regime in particular have shirked their religious, national, and ethical responsibility towards the most important Arab and Muslim problem, the Palestinian problem,” the statement read, according to the Arabi 21 news site.

In the first incident, a 60-year-old man was killed and 15 others wounded, eight seriously, in a shooting attack on a Number 78 bus traveling along Gallows Street in Armon Hanatziv.

An Arab terrorist attempted to snatch an IDF soldier’s gun near Chords Bridge in Jerusalem on Monday evening, before being neutralized by security forces.

Initial reports suggest the terrorist got on the 185 Superbus bus, then attempted to snatch the gun from a 20 year-old soldier there after attempting first to strangle him. He was also brandishing a knife.
